The Defenders Renewed (Group Thread Open To All)

Meeting a favorite

Adam's looking down to see the Commander hadn't gotten very far in a solo game of pool. A sudden scent of female essence along with the scent of greenery drifts beneath his nose. He lifts head as Grey would notice this as well, always quick to smile he did just that as the leafy clothed woman introduces herself, as Cloe. Taking her warm soft hand into his Adam shakes it slowly but firmly. His medium brown eyes met hers of rich dark brown as she spoke such kind words of his speedy recovery. "Thank you Cloe, I really appreciate your kind words Cloe. I'm Adam." Hesitating a moment to gather his thoughts to say this to his favorite Defender since he was a teen. "It's amazing to meet my favorite Defender, one such a part of nature that nature and you are literally one. I always wondered what meeting you would be like."

Realizing that he hadn't let go of Cloe's hand, with a slight blush of embarrassment he let her hand go. "Sorry about that." Grimacing a moment he tells himself Adam you can be such a +Grey rumbles in his mind. Dork, Nerd, Geek? Pick one, made us look he like them+ -I don't need your help to do that, now go back to sleep will you!- Fortunately for them this bickering never lasted more than a moment. If longer he'd look like he'd spaced out on the on a person. His lack of social skill tends to hide Adam and Greys covert convos, but on a moon base, powered people about, he won't hide it for long.

"I know what it's like bonded with something great, his names Greywolf always a very opinionated Wolf. But, I really don't know what I'd do without the big guy to talk to all the time. Finally realizing he's talking to much and to shut up. "Listen at me, blabbing on about myself and Grey without letting you say one single word. Adam thought Damn his ears! He tries tuning out a private conversation as best he could and was failing. In a quiet tone of voice Adam asks Cloe. "Mind if we take a walk, so John and Avery can have some privacy?

Cloe's cheeks and flora blushed at Adam's compliments. The white blooms on her chest were certainly getting a work out today. The thought of being anyone's favourite Defender was a novel one, and she looked at Adam to try and discern his age. Surely they weren't that far apart? That said, she had joined the Defenders young so it was possible that someone who appeared his age could have known of her during their teens. Either way it did make her feel as though she was getting on in age.

"Well it is nice to meet you both; Adam and Greywolf," Cloe said with a respectful inclination of her head. She head Adam's request for a walk and looked over her shoulder at her friend. She made a mental note to catch up with her later.

"Sure, that may be a good idea," Cloe replied, she turned, beckoning him over to the electronic notice board. She swiped over the room assignments and pointed to the one with Adam's name on it. "I can show you around if you like, this base can be a bit maze-like if you're not used to it."

Cloe then gestured towards the rec room door, allowing him to go first. She watched the way he walked and noticed that he seemed to be keeping his balance well enough. She hoped that he was actually up to the task of the walk considering he had been near death less than an hour ago.

"Tell me about yourself and Greywolf," Cloe said as she stepped into the hall and shut the rec room door behind her.

Adam meets Cloe

Adam grins as he didn't intend to make her blush, she's actually more beautiful having not really aged at all. She still have fans like when he was a teen, seeing little buds pop open across her upper chest was something he'd never seen before. Now she's trying to figure something out about him, not blushing but did wonder what's interesting about him. Being just a Rookie and quite awkward, probably just checking to see if he's really OK.

"Well it is nice to meet you both, Adam and Greywolf."

Cloe said with a respectful inclination of her head. +Grey rumbles I like this her she's nice. Tell her it's nice to meet her too+ -I will big guy, after we give the Alpha's privacy-

"Sure, that may be a good idea."

She beckons him over to the electronic notice board. He watches her swipe one delicate tan hand over the room assignments, pointing to a room Adam see's his name on it.

"I can show you around if you like, this base can be a bit maze-like if you're not used to it."

"If you don't show me around, I'll have to leave a trail of bread crumbs." As they began to walk he got ahead of her walking backwards "Oh, if I don't tell you before it slips my mind, Grey won't let me hear the end of it. And I'll not get a wink of sleep. Grey said it's nice to meet you too Cloe." -Happy big guy?- +Grey rumbles I am, thank you+ Turning around to walks side by side with Cloe. "He's a happy content Wolf now."

"Tell me about yourself and Greywolf."

Cloe said as she stepped into the hall and shut the door. "I'll warn you, once you get me to talking you'll have trouble shutting me up." Adam chuckles with a grin. "Well my Grampa, Uncle Jamison and the tribe raised me. Taught to be a Shaman, I went through the rituals to complete my teachings. Then Greywolf revealed himself I had to win his trust and show him I wouldn't give up, I soon discovered neither would he. Being a struggle without end, we chose to be of one body, one mind and one spirit."

Cooking for friends back home then sit back to watch facial expressions when they like it Brew Pubs are great places to go have a cold one while reading a good book, join or enjoy watching a board game played or simply hang out with friends. Haven't found that special one yet, but I still remain hopeful. I'm a Silversmith and make Native American inspired Jewelry. Holds out his hands showing Cloe the six rings he made, reaching up pulls three Totem necklaces from beneath a Classic Rock T-shirt. I'm craving that Smoothie, I don't know if you like the high protein, high caloric, fruit and veggie ones.

"If you don't show me around, I'll have to leave a trail of bread crumbs."

Cloe laughed at Adam's assessment, thinking that perhaps it would be a great idea. Though her mind automatically cast back to her animal familiar Caro, and she realised the crumbs wouldn't last for long on the floor.

Adam then went on to give her a great deal of detail about himself and his life. She listened with interest to his story, and when he mentioned his Uncle Jamison the light bulb in her mind finally turned on and she made the connection that had been bugging her. She vaguely remembered Jamison's time in the Defenders and hoped that his nephew would be able to do as much good as him.

Cloe listened intently as Adam went into detail about the process by which he and Greywolf bound themselves together. Her own commune with nature was quite different, and guided by the spirit of the Amazon, Gaia. She couldn't claim to have the constant personal connection that Adam had with Greywolf, but she knew what it was to be able to call on powerful forces of nature.

"A happy wolf is a good wolf," Cloe chuckled as they turned the into the final corridor that led to the Barracks. She opened up the door and pointed down the row of doors. "Third on the right is yours," She said softly, as not to interrupt Adam's spiel before they both turned back and made their way through other parts.

Cloe didn't bother to show Adam the medical wing, the rec room, the arena or the mess hall. She pointed out the greenhouse as they went, showed him the observatory as he spoke about his powers, and then walked past the labs and the various production rooms.

When Adam's talk turned to food Cloe smiled, hoping that dinner wasn't too far off. The mission that morning had really taken it out of her, and the seeds that Peter had shared were enough to stimulate her metabolism but not truly fulfil it.

"I am familiar with smoothies," Cloe said with a smile and a nod, "I am a vegan, so they are usually a staple of my diet in some ways."

Cloe stopped in front of a room and pressed her hand onto the panel. The door slid aside to show a small, half-dome shaped room right at the edge of the base. The dome itself was a see-through faceted things that gave unparalleled view of the moon ground beyond and the earth and space in the distance.

"This room is one of the most underrated on the base," She shares, "It is so far from the rest of the amenities that most don't bother coming here. For me, it is my sanctuary when I work in the labs. It is a good place to come and think. Quiet. Beautiful. It can also remind you that any problem can seem tiny when you gain the right perspective." Cloe's own words rung through her mind and she bit her lip, letting out a short huff of breath as she looked at the stars beyond. Perhaps she should come here after dinner.

Moon Base

COMMANDER POV

"I see" John said shifting uncomfortably. Dealing with A ex that now wasnt an ex but HAD an ex on their super hero team was ENTIRELY new territory for him. Sure he had seen other members of the defenders going through relationship drama. There was never a set rule about dating team mates and since they all understood each other in a way the rest of the normal world did not it was only naturally most of the team was hooking up with other members of the team. John operated under the "as long as it didnt fuck up the team it was fine" mentality and even managed to find a love of his own in Avery.

Who he was now in this position in

"I promise as soon as we have a lead to find him I am going to bust him out" He said his voice softer as he reached out and toucher her shoulder "Raton is a friend and a team mate I'd move heaven and earth to get him back"

He nodded at her and turned going over to one of the couches and watching every one interact with one another. Warmth filled his heart at seeing the rec center so alive once more. Even with the revelation Avery dropped on him his mood refused to move to doom and gloom.

"Im not mad" he told her sitting down "I am surprised.... You could have told me you know" He said softly.

...................................

THUNDERESS POV

Orror laughed heartily at her words.

"I like you!" She said thumping her hard enough on the back to sent her jostling "I am a queen so I have to much ceremony in my life nine times out of ten"

"We were just moving to the rec room" Gregory piped up stepping forward "I must have missed you with all that was going on I am Gregory I was central on your last mission"

"I thought your voice sounded farmilair!" Orror said taking his hand and pumping it fast enough to send him pitching forward "Its a pleasure to meet you as well!"

"So headed to the rec room huh? Orror said glancing back at the girl named Glory as an idea formed in her head "We could go there but I have a better idea! I didnt get a chance to fight during the training experience there was an.... incident of sorts! You look like a powerful woman how would you like to go a few rounds together" she asked with a wink.

Defender's Base, Rec Room

Avery watched John's face as he processed her information. Seeing his tense muscles relax slightly as he reached out for her was a relief, and her own defensive expression softened. She was relieved to know that John had every intention of retrieving Raton, and she hoped she could be on the team. She had no doubt he would be glad to see a familiar face when the time came.

Avery slid onto the lounge beside John and sighed.

"I was planning to, I was just waiting for the right time. Plus, it isn't like we've had much of a chance to discuss anything yet. Even though it feels like I've been back for forever, it has only been a couple of days."

A guided tour and the view.

"A happy wolf is a good wolf." As he shares a chuckle with Cloe her beautiful face just lit up. "I couldn't agree with you more there, my friend." They turn onto what seems like just another endless corridor. Opening a door she points out his room saying "Third on the right is yours." "Thank you Cloe for guiding me to my room, I appreciate it. But during my long winded rambling, I didn't watch where we're going. I won't need crumbs to find my way, just follow the lovely scent trail you left." +Grey rumbles Nice flirt Buddy+ -Thanks big guy, wonder if I get a smile a blush or both?- +Grey rumbles Asked to stop? He chuckles+

Adam see's a change of expression on her face as the topic had turned to food. "I am familiar with smoothies." Cloe said with a smile and a nod, "I am a vegan, so they are usually a staple of my diet in some ways."

Noticing Cloe stops in front of a room pressing her hand to this panel. A door slides open reveals a small, half domed room right at the edge of the base. A dome is of see through faceted panels giving an unparalleled view of the moon, it's surface beyond and the earth and space in the distance.

"This room is one of the most underrated on the base," She shares, "It is so far from the rest of the amenities that most don't bother coming here. For me, it is my sanctuary when I work in the labs. It is a good place to come and think. Quiet. Beautiful. It can also remind you that any problem can seem tiny when you gain the right perspective."

Adam put his hands on his hips look into the half dome, he fell silent as he and Grey look upon a scene unlike this. "I thought the sight from the Teleportation Room was amazing. This view just completely blows me away, Grey and I have never seen anything like this." "Grey for once in his life is speechless, this earthly sight was to much to put into words."

Alexandria sat at her table looking at the portents of her magical musings. With powers pulled form the aether. The object she sought the Moonblade a powerful blade that has power which waxes and wanes with the phases of the moon. With it she would sever the magical tether from the Demon and his minions. So with the contents before her she prepared the very bowl needed to scry on the object.

Lighting a few candles and sage she then pulled her dagger cut her wrist and let it drip in the bowl. All the while she chanted and chanted. as she did the red mist swirled about the bowl until the red mist lined the edge and revealed to her the location of the blade. There with in the mists revealed to her the blade. as it spread from the blade she found it was housed in some base on the very Moon it's self!

"BAKA" she spat as she slapped the water displacing the image. To think that the arrogance of technological superior minds sought to build on the moon when they have yet to recognize the true potential of this planet and its numerous fonts of power was despicable. Still she needed the blade. She doubted that such fools would have any wards. Hind sight would hurt her this time, but not twice.

Not giving up she used her blood once more dropping it on a circle in the middle of her silver inlaid circle. As her blood mixed with salt hit the lines the symbol flared with light! the drop spread its eerie purple glow until every line burst a vibrant purple. Standing in the center Alex whirled her curved dagger in a tight controlled pattern before cutting a window over her head.

Once completed she let of a rolling battle cry and soon she was engulfed in the purple light. Within seconds she was on the surface of the moon in the room. Her hand hovering inches over the sword until she realized her folly. A novice mistake cost her. Not scrying for traps was a big mistake for she found her self ensnared in a mystical lattice work of wards. With such wards they fired one by one of magical defenses into her body. Alexandria's wards clashed with this ones. Magical energies clashed and crackled in flame and ice and static, until in the end weakened by the drain with the final blast hit her knocking her unconscious.

As her body fell the technological sensors finally picked up the body. Alarms sounded and locking mechanisms fell. Alexandria though hit the floor her body stunned from the mystical ward she should have investigated. it was foolish and brash but she had found her self motivated by vengeance. Which now cost her, for she feared she would be locked away unable to defeat the Demon and his ilk.

Defender's Base, Science Wing Observation Room

"Thank you Cloe for guiding me to my room, I appreciate it. But during my long winded rambling, I didn't watch where we're going. I won't need crumbs to find my way, just follow the lovely scent trail you left."

Cloe's cheeks redden almost immediately at the comment, bypassing her normal pink blush as her white blooms spread further. They certainly were getting a work out today. She thought of her own increased senses and how they were attuned to nature, and wondered just how far Adam and Grewolf's went. Was her scent trail obvious or were they just more primed to sniff it out? Cloe made a point of keeping to low pollen and scent plants when she could, as she knew that some people did not like anything stronger.

"I thought the sight from the Teleportation Room portal was amazing. This view just completely blows me away, Grey and I have never seen anything like this." "Grey for once in his life is speechless, this has never happened before in his entire life."

Cloe nodded in agreement.

"There are a lot of things you will come across as a Defender that will leave you speechless, but some for all the wrong reasons. This, thankfully, is one of the good ones."

Defenders Base, Science Wing Observation Room.

"There are a lot of things you will come across as a Defender that will leave you speechless, but some for all the wrong reasons. This, thankfully, is one of the good ones."

"Guess it means I'll see death and destruction on a scale that I've have never imagined also? I don't look forward to it."

Adam looks down from the amazing sight before him with a deep sigh. Between John and Avery's demonstration, a near death experience and as well as what Cloe just told him. A memory from long ago of his Uncle Jamison sitting in the light of a campfire. It wasn't one of his exciting stories, he's speaking seriously of the day he was asked to be a Defender.

"Responsibility lies heavily upon the shoulders of those who are asked, then choose to be a Defender young wolf." His voice as clear as the night he told this to his young Nephew. Being a Defender was the best time I ever had in my entire life."

Adam weighs the pros and cons of continuing on the course of becoming a Defender, it's something he's dreamed of being since he was a boy. The pros would outweigh the cons. Lifting his head to take in Cloe and the spectacular view behind her, Adam looks her way offering his hand. "Shall we go get Smoothies, since I know the way to my room now?" Waiting a beat or two before smiling. "Not to rush, but I fear Lynx will have me called back to the Infirmary, to poke and prod to see what makes me tick. As Peter told me she might."

Nice, France

POV Zuya Wagner and Jasmijn "Blade" De Vries

There was a little cafe that Zuya always met Jasmijn whenever she came to Nice. Today was no exception. There was a hint of autumn in the air, the sky was blue, the sea looked inviting, and all seemed right with the world

Zuya decided not dispel that illusion from her mind for the moment.

A shout of her name made her turn to see Jasmijn waving at her from an outside table, a broad smile on the usually composed face of her friend. Jasmijn stood up to embrace her slightly taller her friend, and Zuya allowed herself the luxury of stroking her Asian friend's dark silky hair before the two took a seat. Zuya gave her order of a small coffee to a passing waiter before the two young women began the business of catching up with each other.

"I heard about the business with Caliban," Jasmijn remarked, as she finished a last bit of pastry, then eyed the untouched one on Zuya's plate. Zuya laughed and scooted it over to her friend.

"You're going to be in trouble once your metabolism catches up to you," Zuya said with a smile, before her countenance turned serious. "From everything I've read, it could have been much worse. It might even get worse. He warned us to evacuate Socatra, as he had some kind of business to take care of there in a few days."

"We got word of that," Jasmijn said with a frown. "On that other thing you asked about, we're going to have some difficulties."

Zuya took a sip of her coffee and raised an eyebrow, but otherwise made no response.

"The parents, as you know, have the expertise to remain undetectable and untraceable, whether you're using technological means or arcane ones," Jasmijn elaborated.

Zuya frowned. She had dealt with magic before, and even employed it, but it didn't mean she had to like it.

"And then there's the fact the Americans and Canadians aren't cooperating. I really don't have a good reason to give them that will make them give up two of their best people. Their reasoning is, if that little family wants to drop off the face of the Earth, and they left on good terms with the various intelligence agencies of that coalition, why should they help me dig them up?"

Zuya had hoped for better news, but what she heard was what she was expecting. The husband and wife team were not only good in their respective fields, they were on good terms with all the intelligence agencies in the Canadian/American coalition. If the two wanted to drop their family into a hole and pull the hole in with them, nobody was going to try to stop them or help someone find them.

"So we're in a dead end?" Zuya asked.

"Not necessarily," Jasmijn replied. "I have some other leads to follow, favors to call in, and some possibilities to explore. And I've got a spare closet for your luggage," Jasmijn said with a sultry smile. "Assuming you've no objections to putting your shoes under my bed while you're in town?"

"I thought you'd never ask," Zuya replied, leaning over the table to give her friend a quick kiss.

COMMANDER POV

"Still" John said leveling a serious gaze at her "I wish you had told me... Not because I am upset or any thing but because I would have told you about him sooner I knew you to were close but I had no idea-"

Before he could say any thing more his COM system began to beep. Seconds later his phone buzzed and he fished it out.

"You and your gadgets Gregory" John murmured swipping through the notifications before finding the right one.

The alert for the magical vault

"What the-" John murmured rising up and turning to her "Some ones in the magic vault" he told her soft enough not to alert the others.

"Come on" He told her moving over to the exit and opening the door "I had Mysticism ward it before he left just in case... Whoever is in their should be knocked out but I dont want to take any chances" He told her his suit morphing back over his body with a simple mental command.

Aidyina And Pops POV

Yina bobbed her head to the music as she danced naked through the workshop. Bits of grease and dirt smudged her in random pockets as she moved through the racks of robotic bits and skeletal remains of deactivated OMNI forces. If the young Scandinavian woman was troubled by being around all the horrors of war she showed no signs of it. Instead her eyes seemed to dance with the possibilities each one held.

"I think I just about figured it out" She called out to the robot downstairs that was partially dissembled "The actual teleportation matrix itself was not the issue but hacking into their feed was! Who knew quantum physics could be so hard am I right?"

The robot beeped in response a long with a few whirls and clicks that made the young woman laugh.

"You always know what to say Pops" She remarked grabbing the railing and vaulting her self over it easily. She landed and rolled spinning the part she had been looking for in her hands as she did.

"I just need to make a few more adjustments" She told him coming over and climbing onto his back "Then we should be good to go"

A few more beeps came from the robot named POPS.

"Oh right" Yina said looking down at her naked body "I probably should put on some clothes! Ooooooooh I know! My costume"

She jumped off flipping over and back onto the ground. She rushed out disappearing into the workshop as she suited up and got ready to leave.

"I am going to become a super hero" She signed pulling on her costume slash body armor. Once she was ready she slid her goggles down pumping her fist as she came back out.

"Lets get you back together POPS!"

Alexandria was not a mere novice and had unfortunate and intimate knowledge of such wards before. In fact her master had at one time made her feel the very power behind the spells she cast. Which she now was thankful for.

The Arabian beauty let her hands get square with her shoulders. Making sure they were ready she sought to push up only to flop back down as she was still drained from the clashing wards. She cursed a bit more as she crawled closure to the blade, seeking it out not only to defeat her enemies but to make sure she could use its power against who ever would answer the alarm.

She crawled and crawled until she got her hand inches from the weapon. it would be hers it had to be she needed it to kill the bastard of a demonlord. Her hope was shattered as the doors began to open. She knew she would not get the blade in her hands and focus enough to escape She would have to be taken prisoner. it was her only escape for now.

Defender's Base, Magic Vault

Avery's point was well proved as John's eyes widened and he took out his phone. Once more they had just begun talking only to have something come up. Just like old times. John got to his feet, his serious face on, and Avery rose as well.

The fact that someone managed go sneak into the magic vault was very concerning. Avery gave a slight nod and followed John from the room, glad she hadn't get changed out of her armor. She also still had her sword belt on.

Avery and John walked through the halls at a brisk pace. They weren't moving fast enough to alarm anyone, but their concentration was clear and she knew they wouldn't be interrupted. The magic vault was where they stored the magical weapons and artefacts. Some belonged to ex Defenders and were powerful but not immediately threatening. Some items were ones confiscated or retrieved from enemy hands, and their malignant aura alone was enough to cause harm. Jf someone had broken it could be bad. Very bad.

Avery and John rounded the last corner together and their eyes met, both silently preparing for whatever they would see in there. Avery drew her sword and then pressed her palm against the ID vein scanner.

"Door opening in three, two, one-"

Magic Vault

COMMANDER POV

"Going in on point" John told her his armor sealing as the heavy blast doors finally ground open. John pushed himself in one hand forming into a long curved blade as he took in the scene before him.

And the woman

She was struggling to get up, fighting against the magical wards keeping her pinned. Once again John sent a mental thank you to Mysticism the magical hero who had set up much of the defenders wards. He was long retired now but he was known to be one of the foremost experts on magic.

"Grab the cuffs" John said to Avery moving over to her "I dont know who you are but stay down my friend here is going to cuff you then were going to talk"

He eyed her up and down mentally reviewing the lift of enemies and or people of interest the defenders kept tabs on. She wasnt any one from the old days nor was she a person of interest with the syndicate as well.

"Who are you?" He asked as Avery got her secure " Are you friend or foe?"

Defenders' Lunar Base, Medical Area

POV Lynx and Wind Hunter

Lynx and Alya were seated in a small anteroom connected to the medical bay and sipping tea as Lynx discussed the results of the scan.

"I will need to review the results of the scan in detail, but from what I've seen, whatever you're experiencing, it doesn't have a physiological cause," Lynx told Alya.

"Then what is causing it?" Alya asked. Her voice was calm, and she actually felt better that someone was addressing a situation that she didn't even know was occurring, but it didn't mean she didn't want answers.

Lynx shook her head, trying to look sympathetic. "The best thing I can advise you to do is relax. We haven't failed, you know. We've just made progress in determining what your episodes aren't." Lynx paused before continuing. "You're sister says you two only became aware of your relationship in the last couple of years."

Alya nodded. "Actually, just a few days after my nineteenth birthday. Until then, I was a young girl who had spent most of her life in the shadow of the Eastern Himalaya. More often than not, I still think of myself Parna Dasgupta, and not this Alya Simbayla that I was supposedly born as."

"And you met your tiger when you were growing up?" Lynx asked.

Alya laughed. "I think I belong to Parkhala, rather than he belonging to me. But yes, we have known each other and been together since we are both children. He comes and goes as he pleases, but lately..." Alya frowned "...it's pleased him to stay rather close. I think he's worried about me too."

Lynx was going to ask a few more questions, but there was a darkening under Alya's eyes that bothered her. "Why don't we save the questions for later? For now, go join your sister and the others in the Rec Hall."

Alya bowed her head politely then moved to exit the Medical Bay. Lynx sent a message to the Commander to tell him that she was provisionally approving Alya as fit for duty, but that she would be reviewing the relevant material further. The first thing to do, Lynx decided, was to review the tapes available concerning the Caliban mission.

Avery and John burst in the room to find a short, lithe looking woman with shoulder length black hair on the ground. She was struggling towards some sort of blade with a single minded determination. Avery snatched a sec of cuffs off John's hips as he held his blade arm out, ready to attack if need be. Avery leapt over to the other side of the woman and came down on her back, het knee nestling between her shoulder blades and pushing her into the ground as she pulled her arms back and snapped the cuffs on.

"You'd better talk," Avery warned, "My friend here is not the most patient sort of bloke."

Alexandria growled and grunted as some sort of soldiery came in to apprehended her.
Gritting through her teeth she spat out a few dozen curses. Though she knew the power that she would have put behind it was stifled to nothing.

She looked up as best should could looking at those over her. She hated being without the blissful comfort of her magic. So she spat a few more curses before she breathed in deeply. Gaining a bit of her composer she spoke.

" I know not who you are or serve, but for now I mean you no harm. That may change upon who pulls your strings. Now take me from here and ask your questions, but know this if you serve one from the Abyss I shall have no choice but to serve your cord and send you on to the here after" She said her voice seething. Still her words were true. She did not who these people were or if they were puppets to the very forces she sought to stop. Until then she would go peaceably. thus she did not resist.

Defender's Lunar Base - Atrium

Glory shook her hand and smiled, "A queen, huh? Is that a fact? Great! I like to see a woman getting ahead." What was she doing here then? Or was it a ceremonial position like the Queen of England?

Her next words caused the striking dark skinned girl to blink. "Damn, what is it with people wanting me to fight then today? Well, I guess that Erotisi chick just wanted me to kill her, sooo...yeah, not as similar as I thought."

Glory pursed her lips, "You know, I'd be down with going a round or two with you. Either way you mean it," she added after a beat. "But I got some information that I really have to get to whoever is in charge or knows shit around here. I get the feeling that it shouldn't wait. If you can be patient to wait until that's over, I'll be happy to give you a friendly ass kicking."

She glanced at Peter, noting he'd entered and was watching. "How about you, Quiet Type? Come to check out the new girl too?"

Defender's Base, Science Wing Observation Room

"Shall we go get our Smoothies, since I know the way my room now?" Waiting a beat or two before smiling again. "Not to rush but I fear Lynx will call and have me back in the Infirmary, to poke and prod to see what makes me tick. As Peter told me.

Cloe fell silent and allowed Adam to ponder whatever thoughts were on his mind. After a few moments his gaze brightened and she could tell he was back in the room with her.

"That is a good idea," Cloe said with a smile, "I am starving. I don't know if I can wait until dinner is ready."

Cloe opened the door panel again and ushered Adam out.

"Though if I were you I'd be careful of Lynx, she is a stern task master and a very intelligent person. If she tells you that you should be resting..." Cloe trail's off, but then her eyes rest on Adam's. The poor man has just had a near death experience. If he was all healed up surely something nice was in order. . "Don't worry though, I won't spill your secret. Let's get those smoothies."

Defenders' Lunar Base, Mess Hall

POV Windhunter

As Alya headed toward the rec room to join her sister and the other Defenders, a feeling of relief was coming over her. It wasn't that she had learned anything new today. But now that someone was actually working on her problem, it felt like a weight had been lifted off her shoulder. She felt happier now, she felt relieved, she felt...

Her stomach made a rumbling sound, reminding her that she hadn't eaten in quite a while.

It was at that moment that the tiger Parkhala decided to rejoin her.

Laughing, Alya ruffled the fur between the tiger's ears, and then both proceeded to the mess hall to address the 'problem' of her empty stomach.

Defenders' Lunar Base, Medical Area

POV Lynx

"There!" Lynx said out loud, her attention focused squarely on one of the two screens before her. One of the screens had been running data from the scans she had just finished running on Alya. The other had been running various videos of the Defenders over the last 24 hours, from all the available security footage.

And there was Alya, her eyes definitely glowing yellow, saying "Foghlaim o Finnegus." And you could see Delen Kelly interpret it on the same video, a few seconds later: "Learn from Finnegus."

A quick Google search confirmed what Lynx remembered of Irish lore. Finnegus had been the poet who had tutored the legendary Irish warrior Finn MacCool as a boy, which tied in to the other "episode" that Alya had experienced.

Lynx froze the screen to look at Delen Kelly and said a mild curse word under her breath. First that damn mathematical puzzle that Erotisi had dropped on her that Alejandra could have help solved, and now this new puzzle, which the other sister could have possibly shed some light on. And both sisters had dropped off the face of the Earth without a trace.

Lynx was tempted to call Zuya, to see if she had made any progress on the search, but stopped herself. It had only been an hour since the other woman had begun looking. She'd let Lynx know if and when she found something. Besides, Lynx knew with the resources that were available on the Base, that the sisters would be found sooner or later. Lynx was just wanting it to be sooner.

A rumbling of her stomach reminded Lynx it had been quite a few hours since she had tended to her own needs. Lynx programmed the computer to search through the Base's security footage to see if there were any related footage, then headed to the mess hall to tend to her stomach.

COMMANDER POV

John raised an eye as the captured girl finished her spiel. When dealing with magic and magical users you had to be ready for strange tongues and old fashion accents. Of course you also had to be ready for strange for lack of a better word shit.

Like apparently demons

"You dont know us?" John said in surprise. The commander and Siren were about as famous (or infamous depending on who you were talking to) as you could get.

"I am the Commander and this is Siren" John said nodding at Avery "We are the leaders of the defenders you teleported into the Magic Vault and the wards stopped you what were you seeking in there?"

THUNDERESS POV

"I see!" Orror said her eyes flashing as she took in the woman once more "I could stand a round or two and yes I do mean that in both ways" She said with a wink.

She saw the man named Gregory shift and she laughed shaking her head "Its okay! I am used to people being a little off around me...... In any case Gregory are you not the lead tech in the base?"

"I am" Gregory said turning to Glory "I can take it if you want the information..... Or we can go see The Commander John it is up to you"

..................................

ADIYNA AND POPS

"Okay just about done" Yina said sparks flying from the metal as POPS gave of a series of beeps.

"Oh shush" Yina said giggling as she slid the last armor piece on "You were due for an upgrade any ways!"

She stepped back admiring her handywork as she did. POPS was already top of the line even though he was almost a decade old. OMNI was both built ot last and to innovate. There wasnt much she needed to do but given that she was a robotics prodigy (self named though no one would argue against that) improving him had been a task she couldnt try her hand in. The improvements were small in nature but all in all POPS 2.0 was her crowning achievement.

"Okay we are set" Yina remarked stepping over to the front and reaching out to pat his "chest".

"Have you locked onto the signal?"

Pops gave off a series of beeps and whirls as his "chest" slid open to reveal the pilot suite. Yina jumped in sliding her self into the seat and activating the HUD system.

"Okay here we go" She murmured flipping a few switches and watching as the countdown appeared "Now remember when we get there no fighting or protecting me not every ones used to A OMNI Mech on the good guys team they might be.... agressive when they first see you"

"Teleportation in Three.... Two.... One" The AI chimed counting down before a teleportation bubble enveloped them. Bolts of electricity flew out sparking and sending random tools flying as they disappeared in a flash of light.

Defender's Lunar Base - Atrium

Glory grinned back at Orror. She liked this girl. She wasn't sure she'd actually les out with her at all...but maybe. She had never tried it and she considered herself straight, but who knew? "All right, girl. We'll go a few rounds one way, the other...we'll see about that."

At Gregory's comment, she shook her head, "No, I want to talk to him directly. No offense, Greg, but I want to see this through. I don't want it just written off 'cause he thinks he's got other priorities." It was true she didn't know that he would but she didn't trust authority figures. Especially white male ones. "So lead the way or point it out, 'cause I want to get this done. And I have the feeling it needs to be sooner rather than later."

Alexandria looked to the two of them when the announced there names. Neither of them clicked nor did this speaking of the Defenders. Her time imprisioned had stolen much from her. So much time, some much of her life. Friends and family had grown old and died while she stayed young due to the strange powers of the dimension she didnt age.

No back in this modern world she was out of place and severely lacking in knowledge. Like this place and these people. Something should click for her. Yet staring at this people meant knothing to her. It was frustrating especially when she was so close to the moon blade.

" I am Alexandria a sorceroress know as Majestrix. I was before your time. I have returned from my forced exile. Since my return I have sought a few trinkets in my fight against Moloch the demonlord. Which is why I seek the Moon blade. Its enchantmenst will let me sever the strings to many of his agents here. That is what I seek." She says her eyes narrow and fierce but her voice smooth and calm. She was trying to figure out how to escape but she wasunsure what she could do once she was freed.
