I have seven extra minutes of daylight to play with since the solstice happened last Saturday.

I'm going to go for a walk in the last hour of light.

Maybe I'm just imagining it? But I thought the day lengthened by one minute each day past the winter solstice. Until we get to the summer solstice, after which we lose a minute every day.

Maybe it's just some perversion machinated by my wacky brand of optimism.

Five extra minutes of daylight today. Still, that's a damn good bargain, considering that before the 21st I would have been down by minutes.

SLG is correct. The days lengthen approximately 60 seconds per 24-hour period after the winter Solstice.

All I know is by the middle of January it's actually light out when I get out of work.
And it just keeps getting better.
I hate winter.
