The curious case of Sherlocks Heart (closed)

"Warwick, at your suggestion. Will we be back in time for your visit with the Queen?" He asked, wondering if they should pack a bag for the trip.

Yes... Warwick. We can be back in time. Let's go pack.

Turning she headed to her room.

Sherlock walked into the door and strode up the steps. He wanted to be in and out as quickly as he could. Undoubtedly, Mrs. Hudson had questions for him. It was harder to guess if they had heard about the incident in the shop. Lestrade might be good enough to keep it to himself, if Sherlock trusted the man's professionalism. He slipped into his room and found a day bag he'd used on another case. Taking a few sets of clothes, he packed for the mini-getaway he was going on with Iara. Seeing him leaving with such a bag would make them curious, undoubtedly. He wondered if he might devise a way to slip it out the back and find it in the alley on the way out. "It would keep me from spending an hour explaining myself to John and Mrs. Hudson..." he thought to himself.

Mrs Hudson heard them and waited till Iara was downstairs.

I am not going to bombard you with questions Sherlock just know that I have known her her entire life. From the moment her mother placed that little cub on my lap before her eyes were even open.

She took a deep breath and asked one question. Concern and motherly love in her eyes for both Sherlock and Iara.

Do you love her Sherlock?

Sherlock paused, frowning to himself. This sort of question was exactly why he didn't want to come home yet. It was inevitable, though. As Mrs. Hudson said, she was as close to Iara without being family as she could be. It was also something he knew would be an impediment once he chose to get involved with Iara. Mrs. Hudson would be forever in his ears so long as he was with her. Luckily, she was worth it.
"You know why I can't say yes, yet, Mrs. Hudson," Sherlock said, turning to face her. "I tried love once and it nearly killed us all. I won't hurt her, if that is what worries you so much. I also won't run from it if that becomes our fate. That's the best I can give you for now; it's early days, Mrs. Hudson. Let's enjoy this and see where it leads." He says, hoping that will be enough for her.

She nodded to him or was early between them but she worried about Iara and Sherlock.

You have already told me so much, Sherlock. I care dearly for both of you and don't want to see either of you hurt. I also know you have achieved so much with her in such a short time and I thank.you for that too.

Kissing his cheek she turned heading to her flat.

Sherlock couldn't help a small smile as Mrs. Hudson turned her back. "Thank you, Mrs. Hudson. We'll be out for a day or two. We're headed to Warwick to clear our heads and learn more about each other. I feel it couldn't hurt ahead of her visit so I don't look out of place with her," Sherlock explained, hoping she didn't worry while he was gone.

Nodding she continued on her way.

Isra walked over a small bag in hand.

Ready?

Sherlock slings his bag on his shoulder before nodding at Iara. "Ready. Cab to the station?" he asks, wondering if that might be faster than walking.

Sure.

She smiled walking out with him. Once they were in the cab she glanced over.

John asked me a rather entertaining question. He was curious if I really thought you were ready to see any more of my life and world or if I was ready to spend time with you in my world.

She slipped her hand into Sherlocks and smiled.

I told him the only way for you to really understand my world is to be immersed in it with no buffer for a day or two.

Sherlock swallowed. "I think Immersion Therapy is a great way to get through an uncomfortable period of adjustment to something new." He reasoned, suddenly wondering what was waiting for him in Warwick. He'd been there before, but he'd never thought to look beyond what he saw there. Now, he was about to get a new perspective on the world around him. He took some slow breaths and allowed his mind to open to new possibilities and explanations. He had a lot to unlearn to understand the world he was about to enter.

Oh stop worrying I am not leading you to a lions den... yet.

She smiled trying to tease and calm him a little. Just a few friends and family I stay with sometimes.

Sherlock breathed a little easier as he walked down to the street. Hailing a cab, he helped throw the bags in the back before joining Iara to set off for the train station. He didn't chat much in the cab, worried suddenly about the driver listening in. Plus, he figured he had the entire train journey to Warwick for any questions he had.

She curled close and smiled snuggled up with him as they made their way to the train. She smiled closing her eyes holding his hand.

I can't wait to get some time away

Sherlock nods. "I imagine after hunting for so long, it will be nice to be back among your kind and able to relax again." He offers, unsure if there might be politics or complicated relationships waiting for them in Warwick. Either way, he'll find out soon enough when he arrives.

Once at the train station she had a few select requests but nothing too outrageous and they were quickly shown onto a train in a fairly luxury compartment. She smiled to him and once the porter left she slipped out of her outfit and shifted down to her clouded leopard for shaking out her fur and stretching for a few moments before shifting back to her human form and reaching for her clothes.

Sherlock was certainly not expecting the train car he would get to use. It seemed that Iara had all sorts of connections that even he could not access. It seemed the train journey would be a part of their getaway. As he got aboard and stowed his bag, he turned in time to watch Iara coming out of her clothes. Even though he'd seen it before, he never grew tired of seeing her body on display. He was a bit surprised to watch her shift to her animal form and then back again. He chalked it up to her feline side needed a stretch after so long in her human form, but filed it away to unravel later. Once she was redressed, he took her hand. "It seems we have quite the luxurious space to spend our trip. Is there anything I should know before Warwick? The prospect of being among others of your kind is still new to me that I don't know what to ask," he admitted.

I arranged merely for more privacy for us. This car is comfortable to any form I prefer to be in. Less likely to have to many people recognizing you and expecting to talk as well. Plus I can assure you Mycroft has probably never even seen this accommodations.

She smiled leading him over to sit down still holding his hands.

As for what to expect it's not like the whole Warwick is shifters like me. There is an amazing cheese shop run by another bird shifter the historical tours are run by and hosted by shifters as well and the Little cottage B&B is run by an elderly couple who sort of look out for all of us. They have a few little properties about the area and countryside that their children and grandchildren run to watch over us as well.

Sherlock followed and sat with Iara. He was more than happy to loop an arm around her and hold her close as they waited for the train to move. Listening her talk about the community that waited for the in Warwick, it sounded like it would be hard to even know he was with them if not for Iara's knowledge of the city. "Very well then, I'll take this trip as a nice break then. Forgive me if my brain doesn't settle, however." He apologized in advance as he knew himself well enough to know idle countryside living is not for him.

Well if you are wanting more intense immersion into the shifter world it can be arranged. Believe me for me the down time is nice. Then again our problem solving styles are very different.

Leaning close to his ear with a purr.

And I am sure we can slow that mind down lover.

With that a nibble at his ear lobe

Sherlock smiled as she nuzzled in close. The nip at his earlobe made him gasp through his teeth before turning to face Iara. Leaning in, he kissed her as he moved to lay beside her on the comfortable couch in the luxurious car they had all to themselves. He let himself relax into it and felt his passion rising to show her how he felt about her.

As they laid down she curled against him pressing softly into the kiss. Fingertips caressing over his chest faintly. Her eyes closed letting the sensual feel of it all envelope her. As the kiss broke even for a moment she looked deep into his eyes and smiled. A hand reaching to caress his cheek and slither fingers through his hair.

Sherlock smiled back at her, looking deep into her eyes. "I don't know if having you in my life will make things more or less complicated, but I'm glad that you're here." He finally admitted before kissing her again. His hand slid along her body, touching and exploring as he went. Slowly, he slipped a hand under her top and let his hand flatten against her stomach before sliding higher, inching up her top as he moved.

Well you can look at it in the negative of complicated or perhaps adventurous. So... how adventurous do you feel Sherlock?

She snuggled more gently wrapping her legs around his legs and hips.

"Adventurous enough to enjoy this private train car." He challenged, smiling down at her as he eased her top up even more as he leaned down to kiss her. Leaning over her, he ground his hips to hers gently, loving the feel of it. Nothing interrupted them aside from the sound of the train car gliding over the tracks and the sway of it around turns and rises.
