hate to be the voice of reason here, but..

okay.. I'm a sprinter.. And you know what, I think nails like that oughtta be illegal on the track.. Cause I've been gored by a girl with nails not even that long. I managed to to stay the race (beat her too!) but that's just not safe. Obviously, I didn't care much about my own safety cause I was right on her til I passed her (and have the scar to prove it!), but other runners try to keep their distance from her hands. It gets so people won't try to get through/around/whatever the bottle neck so it drags down the level of competition and totally skews the results.
