The crazy things we like

I rarely watch television but tonight I was looking through the tv guide to see if there was anything interesting on.

It struck me that I have wide and varied tastes because I was interested in watching both Beach Blanket Bingo AND The Dirty Dozen.

How different can those two examples be? Yes, I am a Frankie Avalon fan- and proud of it! But I also love war movies. I have no idea what that means or how that defines my personality. Unless it means I am obsessed with surfers and soldiers!

Do you like such disparate things too? Give us some examples.

Or do you stick with one kind of entertainment?

I saw Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back last night, and probably laughed louder than most of the people in the theater. Then I went to Blockbuster just so I could see if all of the Kevin Smith videos had been rented (yup for all except Dogma).

Then this afternoon I watched Jane Eyre while sewing a tablecloth.

The last two CDs I played in my car - Rob Zombie and ABBA. Next on my to-buy list are Ani DiFranco and the soundtrack to Oh Brother Where Art Thou?.

Most people are varied or multifaceted, which is what is so great about friendships - discovering all the quirks. I adore finding out the contradictory behavior in others.
