The corperate underworld, A beauty to be tamed (open)

Ivy shrugged her shoulders, "In comparison to things that have been done to me by his colleges, I should say not. but there was no doubt in my mind when his hands were around my throat that he meant what ever threat he made" She finally fished expaining in detail all that had followed the snake like hand that had snatched her from her dance.

She refilled her wine glass before explaining that she had tried to run and nearly had her arm broken not long after the confrontation in the room she had been retrieved from. The thought of it all still frightened her to think of.
Ivy rubbed her arms as she finished and glanced in the direction he had wondered off with the file. "I think I would be afraid to cross him..." her expression appeared concerned as thoughts of what was to come skittered through her mind.
She could only guess of course, but the conversations she had overhead indicated that they had plans to reclaim her. If they didnt plan that she felt at the very least they planned to use her against the man to whom she had been gifted.

"Yes!"

The exclamation brought Allan to his feet, he had found the answers he needed in the file, now all he had to do was alert the Revenue service and not only would it weaken Ivy's captors, it would increase the company's standing. He closed the file, then picked up a sheaf of papers and a pen. He returned to the room where Ivy and Dominique still sat, discussing whatever they were. He placed the papers and pen in front of Ivy. He took the seat next to her,

"Ivy, I need you to write down everything that you can remember, from the day they took you from your people up until the day you were given to me."

Ivy looked down at the paper in front of her and frowned. "I.. Everything ?" She flushed at the thought of sharing the horrific details she had experienced. The thought of documenting them actually draining the color from her cheeks. A deep breath as she collected herself. "As you wish sir" she said finally when she trusted her voice to be steady. "Only there are things I would choose to forget .... And must I speak of my people?....their location ?" Desperation gave her voice a crack at that thought .

"Yes I will need everything, everything you can remember."

He placed a hand on her shoulder,

"I have a very good idea of what you went through, but I need this on paper."

He paused,

"And you do not have to betray the location of your people, just write down from what you remember of the capture up until you came here."

"Alright then..." Ivy said quickly draining the wine glass and placing it back on the table. She ran her fingertips across the paper for moment before she picked it up and rose from the table. "excuse me please... I will put this away for now? Is that alright?" she asked a bit of that faraway look returning to her eyes as though she was already making a mental draft of the task ahead. She didn't hear them answer if they did as she walked away hurriedly to the room Alan had allowed her to sleep in.

"Allan is that really necesarry?"

Allan nodded,

"You know it is too soon to put her through that."

"Yes, but it is best to get it now. Times is running out."

Dominique frowned,

"What do you mean?"

"It is time to hunt some sharks."

He smiled at her worried visage,

"When this is all over, you will all be free. Is that not what you want? To see your people again?"

She sighed,

"I do miss them, but..."

He shook his head,

"Perhaps it will be best to start Ivy's training. That way if she doesn't want to return she can survive in the outside world."

He got to his feet,

"I'm hitting the gym, the nect meeting is in two hours."

Ivy found herself pacing the bedroom anxiously eying the stack of blank paper on the desk. There was a bright side at least to the task at hand, there were things she couldn't think when , how, or if.... She should bring up to Allen.
For nearly 2 hours that followed ,Ivy worked on the papers meticulously recorded as many details as she could recall. Tears stained the paper when she wrote of her captors having used hurting the other young girls to punish Ivy. She went on to write about the implanted GPS tracking that had been injected into her forearm. Ivy noted that when her masters had pierced her navel there had been discussion of their ability to listen in while slaves were being enjoyed or disciplined.
Once she had written out all she had the memory and strength to write, she folded the papers and took them to Allen's office. When they were safely in his desk where he wouldn't miss seeing them, Ivy sighed and left the room afraid of the questions he may soon ask.

It was just before his meeting when he went to his office to gather a file, he found the papers folded neatly on his desk. He picked them up and tucked it into his jacket before heading out, the meeting was for an hour, but he returned six hours later, well into the night, he had read the papers and they made appalling reading. As usual Domonique waited for him, the only woman he could never have was the most solid and real thing in this world he moved in. Without a word he handed the papers to her and she knew what he needed, only a nod gave through the fact that she knew. He went to Ivy's room, knocking gently on the door,

"Ivy? It's Allan, may I speak with you for a moment?"

Ivy was sitting in the window with her arms around her knees looking outside. She allowed her hair to freely flow down her back and wore a simple white shirt with thin straps and the blue skirt made of fabric that had so entranced her when Allan had taken her to purchase clothes. "of course" she answered quickly however, she did not move or look towards the doorway. "Was what I wrote acceptable?" She asked quietly a bird flying by seeming to have her full attention. "I left some things out Allen...just about how I came to be in the situation before I was given to the slave traders ....I left polaitíocht...the politics you would say. I cannot bear the shame of that...please understand? straightening her shoulders and lifting her chin a bit she finally turned to look at him.

He smiled at her and took a seat on the windowsill,

"It was perfect all I ever needed to know was there."

From his inside jacket pocket he drew a highly polished mahogany box,

"I wish to present you with this, a gift for you to wear, I hope you find it acceptable."

He opened the clasp and lifted the lid to reveal a bracelet, it was authentic, but he had a master craftsman insert powerful magnets. On one side it would work to help balance her natural magnetic fields, but it would also disrupt any signal sent out by the implanted GPS tracker. But of course she only had to think of it to be a bracelet, one of her homeland.

my life gets busy and I forget/lose all spare time not used for sleeping, sad truth I'm sorry:eek:

"A gift?" She paused, wariness in the arch of one eyebrow regarding the box with suspicion until he had open the box.
Ivy grinned when she saw the bracelet, her eyes brightened and her hand rose slightly from her lap. "It is lovely, thank you." She turned herself away from the window and turned to Allen. "I still cannot quite understand the reasoning for your kindness. I recognize how fortunate I was to have ended up in...your charge. I really do wish to be of help however I can in whatever it is you intend to do" She braided her hair and pushed it out of her face as she continued. "I cannot say I understand all that is happening around me right now, and I still get confused, I am still very angry and more afraid than I care to admit but, I owe you a great debt Allan. Things could have been very different for me if you had not shown such patience, or left me in the shark tank you found me in. "

Allen smiled at her and gave her shoulder a soft pat,

"You have already done a lot, just one more thing and you will be free. Until that happens though, Nique will be looking after you, teaching you. So if you decide not to go back to your people, you will be able to function perfectly in this world."

He looked passed her at the window and from the look in his eyes, he was looking at more than the scene outside,

"Perhaps we will both find a peace when this is all done and said."

He blinked and looked back at her,

"I do hope the bracelet fits you well."

Ivy smiled down at the bracelet, gingerly removing it from the box. She held it up and admired the intricate markings. "Do you think that what is to happen will be happening soon?" She looked up when he touched her shoulder noting the far away expression he was wearing.

"I appreciate your concern and I am ready to learn all that Nique is willing to teach me Allen. Of course, whatever the one thing you ask of me is, I will do. Is it out of line that I want to ask you, what will become of you when whatever this is, is over? Will I see you again?...You wear such foreboding. I fear for you."
She wanted to ask why he did it? Instead she chose to control her endless stream of questions for a moment, To instead enjoy her moment of close proximity to him and sighed instead of finishing her thought.

Allen shook off his reverie, realized his hand was still on her shoulder and lowered his hand,

"It could be a week, it could be a month, it will not be longer than three months."

He paused at her question, took a deep breath,

"Once the sharks are beached and flopping about like small fish, I will have to disappear. The only way to see me then will be to come with me."

He gave her a grim little smile,

"If I survive that long, I don't carry the pistol and train with it for just the looks."

"Please survive" Ivy whispered and twisted around to look at him. "I have heard it many places, in many ways.... that there is little worse than words left unsaid." She frowned and paused struggling with what she wanted to say but kept her gaze on his face. "I have lost my grace for with words and emotion and caring. I have lost a lot Allen and I would prefer not to lose the chance to truly know the man who risks so much, who has changed so much for me, and why he has done this" She lowered her gaze and turned back to the window. "If ever there is a way I can help to assure I am not robbed of that as well"

Allen rested his hand on her shoulder once more,

"I will try my best, that is all I can promise you." He felt the heat of her body and for a moment wondered just how that body would feel against his own. It was strange that she evoked these feelings in him, to him it was a mystery.

"I have read through your description of what had happened and I have come to realize that even if you wished to return to your people, you could not. 'Nique was taken from her family, if you wish you could perhaps join her?" He smiled, "But you have the evening to think about that, your training starts in the morning. Feel free to explore your gilded cage, it might start to seem more like home than a cage."

He withdrew his hand, turned and walked to the door, placing his hand on the doorknob to leave.

The shiver rocked through her and she wondered what Allen would say if she leaned into him when he touched her shoulder. Instead, Ivy froze and she felt herself go rigid when he turned to walk away.

Ivy stared into the reflection of the window and watched him move toward the door. The bracelet that now decorated her wrist shined in light. With a sense of panic she realized how much she didn't want him to walk out of that door yet and little gasp caught in her throat. She thought back to the night they had met again, where her mind often traveled now
"Allen?" she called , "Will you stay with me awhile?" she asked his back when he touched the doorknob. "I know you are quite busy...you come and go so much..I think that you must be or robot or always exhausted..but..."
She hugged herself more tightly around herself when Allen paused at the door. "please stay...?"
