The corperate underworld, A beauty to be tamed (open)

Ivy smiled a little and nodded. "He is not normal, he does not make sense in the way that a normal man does." Her eyebrows furrowed as she considered Allen as law enforcement.

"He would not frighten me so if he was a normal man, a normal man has his tastes to satisfy and once that is done it is done. Normal men who buy women for currency that is" She dropped her gaze back to the ground and sighed slowly.

"I am sorry for ruining the clothes that he purchased." She looked down at the grass smears and dirt on the white dress she wore.

"I have not shown grace for the kindnesses he extended. The disrespect that i showed him...."
She shook her head remembering the moment Allen had twisted her arm. The moment he had NOT broken her arm.

"With any of the...normal men if I had behaved in such a way, I would be lucky to be able to walk much less be clothed, fed, or.... allowed outside."

"Then you seem to understand him a bit more already. He is not like the ones who captured you and held you. He was the one who guarded over you for most of the night, had I not chjecked in on you he would have been there when you woke."

She smiled at Ivy's distress over the dress,

"Just show him that you have the grace and accept his kindness, deep within he is a human just like the rest of us. It may seem like he wants to use you, but if it is true, it will be for the betterment of others as well."

Dominique hooked in with Ivy and walked with her,

"Children of the Isles, people of the fairest lands are we."

A peaceful smile settled itself on Ivy's lips and she hummed seeming in daze. Her pace was sluggish, but her eyes remained bright and eager to take in everything around her.

The way the air tasted fascinated her, self reflection took Ivy to wonder at the gained appreciation. She did not think in her life she had ever understood the look in an animals eyes so well. The wild love of the outside.

She had never noticed the fuzzy layer of static that lay in the farthest depth of the sky. When you looked so hard that focus did not matter. She smiled a little broader at her newly discovered passionate love for that open space , she thought she could gaze at it forever.

"It is nice to be awake" she remarked suddenly.

Dominique smiled at Ivy

"I am glad that you are, here the only drugs you will receive will be purely medicinal, you had quite a fight against the withdrawal last night."

She gently brushed a stray hair away as they walked over the lawn, looking about.

"The time you spend here will be good, I hope you understand that we are not here to try and force you into anything you do not wish, Allen just wish to have your help."

Ivy nodded, "I understand...rather I am seeking grace within my circumstance" She said slowly. "I should consider myself more than fortunate to be alive at this point" She finished her thought with a sigh.

Her mind traveled to Allen and she let her gaze fall to the road that led to the house. "I will try not to be any more trouble for him, I am sure I have been more than I am worth thus far. It is much better here than where I was before...I did not mean for him to be disturbed by my fit last night" She turned to Dominique her eyebrows furrowed in concern.

Dominique smiled at Ivy again,

"It is for us to care for those who comes to us, he just cares for you dear. It would not have troubled him or he would not have stayed with you during the night."

She looked at the road and smiled enigmatically,

"I do hope that your new decision might make you want to go out and shop, it's been a long time since I had another woman go with me to the shops."

Ivy smiled "that would be lovely, even before I lived a life of merchandise..." she paused a little laughter in her expression. "Most towns weren't exactly thrilled about our kind filling their stores, didnt always stopped us but we didn't take a lot of time to browse"

She gently patted Ivy's arm,

"Now you will find just how much fun it can be. You will realize just how precious you are. A quick mind and a strong will is something you don't find every day my dear and that is some of the good attributes you already displayed."

The walked all along the edge of the grass, the rich soil to the side hosting bushes and flowers, all in full bloom, filling the air with their scent.

Ivy furrowed her brow in concern as she scanned the scene with a dazed stance. "It is all so big, I don't know how to grasp myself amongst it all. Everything is so loud, and ..." her voice trailed off her dark hair coming lose to veil her face, as if it knew that she desired the shield. "I have never known fear that I could taste in the back of my throat, like it wont let go. I don't know that there are much worse horrors that I may see...or you for that matter" She stopped and seemed to remember that Dom was there.

"But, even so....it wont let go" She shook her head and sighed. "How did you find grace within yourself?" she asked behind her veil of dark auburn tendrils.

"By embracing the fear and through that conquered it. If you stay afraid, it will control you. Also Allen have shown much more compassion than anybody else have towards me and that is good enough to silence any demon. When you have somebody you can trust in."

She patted Ivy's arm gently,

"And you have Allen and me to look after you."

Ivy released a slow sigh that turned into a yawn she then turned to Dom and gave her a small sweet smile. "I cannot say thank you enough, I feel more...alive than I have in some time..more human."

She felt her mind quiet a bit, as she looked toward the massive house and then towards the road. "I would like to understand Allen better" she stated matter of factly. "I can't make sense of him"

'Nique smiled,

"Wouldn't we all? The man is a silent enigma, he is so guarded that you would be hard pressed to get any information from him about him. The best is to observe him, I think you already know something of him by now."

She looked out over the grounds, taking in it's beauty along with the house.

"He should be back soon, his schedule had quite some time open since yesterday."

She smiled,

"I think that Allen have taken time away from work to spend with you."

Ivy looked down at her clothes and hands, dirt caked under her fingernails from reaching into feel the earth. "Do I have time to clean up and maybe get a little bit of sleep" She was more exhausted from the experience of being outside than she had realized. The dark circles under her eyes showing even through the pink glow the sun had given back to her cheeks.

"I don't want him to think me ungrateful or anymore graceless than I must already appear." she said smiling meekly at Nique.

Nique nodded,

"Indeed you have, if memory serves two hours, that should give you some time to clean up and rest a bit."

She lead the way back home

When Ivy was back in the room she had been designated, she was struck with how much her outing had taken out of her. She stood gazing in the mirror at her dirt streaked clothes, hands, and face.

She made her way to the bathroom and carefully peeled off the dirty gown and set it aside. She bathed quickly the hot water making her body feel heavy, the weight of her hair making her almost woozy. When she finished she pulled a giant white robe around herself and stumbled onto the bed without even climbing under the sheets.

Her last coherent thoughts before drifting to sleep were of Allen. She found herself considering the way he had pulled her into his lap in that pool of sharks. How ruthless he had appeared to her and no doubt to his business partners. She had believed him when he threatened her, she had been afraid...and yet the place she found herself now.How there could be such kindness within him was puzzling around in her mind when dreams rescued her from the hopeless mission to understand.

Allen Gray

It was over four hours later when he did return, he had finished all his business engagements and now had most his day open. He undid his tie and the top button, as usual Dominique waited for him by the door, he arched an eyebrow at her and she smiled.

"She is asleep for now. Should I wake her?"

He shook his head,

"I'll be free for some time, I wish to see her then we can discuss the more pressing things."

Dominique nodded and he walked to Ivy's room, he noticed that she wasn't covered so he gently pulled the folded cover from underneath her feet and spread it over her. Then he smiled and left the room, he went to his study where he knew 'Nique would be waiting patiently for him. Grace was her nature and he smiled as he remembered the woman she had became after he had saved her life.

Ivy woke quite suddenly feeling disoriented, She was warm she realized. Her eyebrows knotted as she considered the comfort she felt it was unfamiliar to her. She was safe and warm, she wasn't trembling in fear or nursing wounds to her flesh and spirit.

Moving the covers from herself, Ivy padded over to the window trying to guess what time of day it might be. The ability to keep track of times passing had been a maddening loss. Now that it was so accessible she was overwhelmed by the hours as they passed, the moving hands of a clock, and most of all the changing of shades and phases of the sky.

She dressed herself in the black clothes that had nearly gotten her arm broken when she had thought of running. She would have to thank Allen for keeping her from that fate as well. Something told her had she run, she would not be safe and warm.

She let her hair flow rather haphazardly down her back and didn't even think of shoes before she wondered down the long hallway to peek around for Dominque or Allen.

Allan Gray

He was in his room, the suit he wore laid out on his bed, he now wore black boots and a jean with a black belt. He was examining the scars on his chest and back when he noticed his door move to reveal Ivy. He gave her a friendly smile,

"Ah you are awake,"

He picked up a shirt and pulled it on, buttoning it close.

"You seem refreshed, I trust that you are feeling better?"

A smile crossed her face when she saw Allen. Ivy lowered her gaze and nodded, she quickly noticed she had forgotten shoes.

"Yes, yes I am feeling much better....Dominique is very kind" she whispered,
"you have been very kind as well....I hope I can truly be forgiven for my behavior"

She tried to keep her eyes from stopping upon the reflection of his scars, but as he was standing in front of the mirror they were impossible to miss. She suddenly moved away from the door, fearing he had noticed her lack of shoes, disheveled appearance, and now the staring.
"I am sorry to trouble you sir, I should see what Dominique wishes me to do"
She dropped her gaze and backed towards the hallway, thankful that she had thought better than to ask the origin of the scars.

"Now now no need to rush away, stay a while. Tell me how your day have been. Heavens know I have had a dreary day to say the least."

He motioned her to enter as he took a seat on the bed, motioning to the chair.

Ivy slowly inched further into the room and took a seat in the chair. First she curled her legs underneath herself, seeming to realize the lack of grace in her posture she straightened up and crossed her legs at the ankles.

"Dominique showed me the grounds, A bit of them...It felt wonderful to be outside" she smiled a bit as she remembered laying in the grass. "I hadn't been outside in, well a long time...I can't really be sure how long" A small laugh escaped her. "the grass, smelled sweeter than I remembered."

He nodded,

"'Nique is from the isles, she almost worshiped the grass on her first time out."

He straightened his shirt,

"Do you understand that I do not wish to keep you prisoner, but can't really allow you to go out of the grounds on your own just yet? I know it seems like a gilded cage, but your freedom is not something I offered lightly. I will give it to you once all is done and you still wish it."

Ivy opened her mouth to speak but, closed it just as quickly deciding to start again. "I....understand that the decision is yours to make" she said without meeting his eyes. She found her eyes drawn to his chest, though concealed now she was puzzled where the scars could have come from.
The did not match the mansion and servants that he lived with on a daily basis.
"Will you tell me of your day then?" she asked forcing herself to straighten and look into his face.
