The Construction Thread

It looks as if everyone is using their time wisely and building their skill base.

Chin up lads, we've got ten billion Chinese waiting to eat our lunch.

I'm not anti safety though I could see how you'd think that.

Talk about burying small businesses in paperwork.

I never thought that.
But, the safety thing is going a bit far with paper lately. All to protect asses though.

We are going through a bad deal here right now involving a workers death.

It was on a government run site and they are controling the safety inspectors to save their own asses and jail people that had nothing to do with it.

It will likely get tossed out of court but the delays in charging the people actually responsible will let them walk scot free.

Still, the lawyers will make money.

Actually, most in the construction industry here think the city CEO is getting away with what is close to murder. Those outside the industry just have no idea.

The lawyers would have made more money the other way.

The saddest part is the family is getting screwed.

I always hate hearing that a guy (or gal) was killed or injured at work.

I think the pendulum will keep swinging that way for a while yet unfortunately.

You know...as long as everybody gets to go home at the end of the day...who really cares how much paperwork it is...and I think C-45 is what they are using except I also think it is being abused in this case.

Anyway...on to happier topics

Plenty of wind in James Bay!.......

They were planning on plunking them along the shoreline of Lake Superior....would have looked like shit in my opinion...there are better options than windmills.

And its not like they aren't expensive enough now without putting then in James Bay with tripple the site costs
