I know that women make good welders and all, but it bothers me to see females in there.

There was a female welder in the fitters local. She was a great welder. After doing over twenty years in the trade she left to teach. Twenty years of the comments, bullshit, and pettiness was too much. I think the fitters fucked up. Mary carried her part of the job just fine. She was a breath of fresh air on the job site.

We all have our feelings on the subject and I respect yours.

It's not that women can't do the job. They are fine at that.

I just like it to remain a man's world. One of the few small places left where a purely masculine code prevails.

I hear you. It is not the same with and without. There is a female on my hockey team this season. Locker rooms are nasty places. Cute blonds do not belong in there.
