The Construction Thread

I got paid by the hour so I never had much complaint about things like fall protection and LO/TO. Plus scored huge OT writing the plant's LO/TO and maintenance S.O.P.s. If you have to work OT better at a desk and computer with WWW access than on the floor.

Plant scored a 'world class' description on our ISO audit due to the excellent maintenance documentation. Was so stressed out from the audit I threw up after. QC guy was my friend after that.

Used an SAP maintenance management system. Holy fucking out dated. Tabbing around screen. No Windows type icon driven stuff. Was like programming in college. In the 80s!

I have seen some of the worst insulation jobs lately. I'm actually relieved to be completely removed from the field now because it was getting tiring. The shit people will do when they know they can get away with it.

Building envelopes need to go together simply. A few dollars more in materials can save a lot of labor and time.

I remember when they were building a school here in London. The local news showed up and taped some of the work being done. Safety Nazi showed up next day with stills from the video and fined every guy in it without a hard hat.

In all fairness, come on. You have to at least put on a show if a news crew is filming you.
