The Confederacy lost the Civil War. Their flag is the symbol of racist losers. Germany does not embrace the Nazi flag. It is certainly time that we do the same, after more than a century and a half of clinging to their whiny lamentations of white supremacy. Take down the flag and put it in a museum, relegating it to the ranks of history where it belongs.

Along with the Term Black Power/Black Pride/ and the single fist in the air (all militant) .... what else can we do away with? ... anyone have suggestions?

Some are definite racist, others just have pride in what their states once were ... slaves were everywhere in America, does that mean the north and their flag stands for racism just because once upon a time?

The Confederate Flag has been adopted by racists.

The meaning they give to it is nothing to do with the historic Confederate States nor the meaning that many other people have for that Flag.

In the same way, the Union Jack has been adopted by some racist causes in England, but for most it is the symbol of English sporting endeavour.

Flags are powerful symbols, but the symbolism can be perverted.
