That happened to me when I was playing "What Time Is It, Mr. Wolf?" when I was a kid.

I went this way, she went that way, and her teeth opened up a real bloody wound over my left eye.

No hospital, my dad was cheap and no medical insurance back then. Ended up infected an I got meningitis. Not serious, antibiotics cleared it right up.

Have an interesting scar hidden by my eyebrow now.

That just keeps reminding me how gently we treat little kids these days. Not that that's a bad thing, mind you, but good God!

We used to sword fight with broom handles and baseball bats. I've got all kinds of interesting scars and wounds from that.

my sister got a penknife in her head whilst hanging around some of the less erm cultured of the kids in our area. funny thing is, my sister wanders in, penknife inbedded in her noggin and my mother exclaims "Thank Goodness"

when she'd heard lil'sis was hurt she thought she'd fallen of the bouncy castle and broken a bone. She whipped out the knife, disinfected the wound and sent my sister back off to play again *L*

Oh I think some peopel are way, way to soft with their kids...I mean i remember hearing folks saying they bathed their baby daily. Sure Beth got a wash daily, but goodness she never got dirty enough to have a bath more than a couple of times a week as a newborn*L*

People don't trust their common sense so much now i don't think,so kids get taken to the docs for all kinds of things that could just be sorted out with a bit of infant paracetamol or some antiseptic cream :D

Ok now I'll be labelled a cruel, cruel mother *LOL*

I like old cars. The muscle cars of the lat 60's and 70's were stylish, slick, desirable, and had an unmistakeable sound of power to them. By and large I think my favorite is the 1967 Shelby Cobra. Not the Mustang GT (albeit an awesome automobile as well), but the actual Cobra. Sleek, powerful, and it ran a 1/4 mile in 9.6 seconds off the factory floor. It's one of those cars that just looks fast, even when standing still.

I have an entirely juvenile, and very unfeminine, love of muscle cars....I'm so ashamed!

My dream car is a 1969 Z28.....NOT the 1968 model like most will tell you that they'd like to have. They changed the style for 1969 - it's sleeker and less blockier-looking than the 1968.

About 10 years ago, or so, on my way to work I saw a 1969 Z28 body - that's all - parked on the side of the road with a "for sale" sign on it. I repeated the phone number that was on the sign all the way to work, and when I got there, called. The guy said he wanted $900 for the body....I about fainted! I told him I was at work, gave him my phone number, and told him I would meet him over there where it was on my lunch hour, at noon.

At 11:00, or thereabouts, he called me back....someone else had been able to get the money to him before I could, and he'd sold it. :(

That was the closest I've gotten to owning one.....dammit.

Currently, I have a 1994 Trans Am (what they consider a "fourth generation" body style), and I've also owned a 1978 Camaro Rally Sport, and a 1986 Z28. I love the one I have now, and I loved those others, but it's just not quite the same.

Mine was pale blue (such a 70's color), but remember these?:

Then I had the 1986 Z28...it was gorgeous. Red with gold ground effects, louvers on the back, and gold-tinted windows and t-tops. For some reason, most of the red Z's had silver trim, which I didn't like. Mine was gold, so like this, but better :D :

When they changed to the fourth generation body style, I changed my allegiance from the Camaro to the Firebird. Yeah, I know, same car, but there are several small body-style differences. The Firebird just looks better to me (mine is even this exact color):

Cloudy, that's awesome :) Gorgeous cars! I don't think a love of cars is unfeminine, just not as popular as men loving them.

CLICK!

That's my baby right there. I want one with a lower profile roll bar behind the driver's seat and be a deep metallic black fading to silver(mirror finish) with silver (same mirror finish) racing stripes that fade to the deep metallic black.

I like cars. Just not old ones. I love the souped up racing cars they have now. No, I am not talking abou tNascar, I am talking like the fast and the furious. They make horny they are so hot. Just looking at one makes me want to get naked and fornicate.

Can't say as I blame you, but the Cobra beats most of those soupped up little ricers when it was off the factory floor. There's some guy in Cali that squeezed 1600 horses out of a 427. That's just under a horse power per pound....the guy was too scared to see what it would do wide open....never had it over 180 before, but he said he still had a gear and half his gas pedal to go when he hit that.

But hey, it's whatever gets you hot and bothered.....that's the main reason guys get cars like that

Rob, I read the story, and you're a bastard. I hate you for making me care that much.

You're quite welcome, Jammies. I'm going to let it sit for a bit, see what my editor has to say, and submit it for the Halloween contest.

Random thing to say?

I used to collect hand to hand weaponry. I have sai, kama and nunchuka. Used to have a manriki-gusari and tonfa, but they disappeared somewhere over the years.

Sigh, wish I had enough money to start collecting and training again. :(

I have a collection (this is so embarassing)....

I have a Jerry Garcia doll, and 60-something Grateful Dead Bears - that's what's in my china cabinet on display instead of china.
