Every second, of every minute, of every day. The question you need to ask yourself is this:

How much closer am I to what I want, than I was this last second, that last minute or yesterday?

Has anything changed? What's your fucking plan? Do you think things will just magically happen for you? Are you too busy trying to survive these next few months? The next year? You need to look beyond that. You need to see where you want to be 5 or 10 years from NOW. Do you think it will be easy? If it was, then more people would do it. Fear of change and the unknown and laziness. Those are the enemies. And all those people whispering in your ear, "you can't do that".

If you have nothing to start then it should be even easier, because then you have nothing to lose.

In ten years I want to be _____________. You fill in the blank.

In ten years I want to be alive and content with what I have and where I am.

Another thought provoking thread...
and so aptly timed too...

I did that 10 years ago. I am nowhere near where I thought I would be, and so far beyond anywhere I could have imagined. It is nice to have goals to strive for, but you can never feasibly conceive of all the things that will occur in that passage of 10 years. Much better to have big goals, broken down with little goals that are more attainable. Little goals that will get you to the big one eventually.

When you have nothing to lose, you have no hope. Change isn't your enemy, you are. Everyone is in control of their destiny. We each control what we allow to happen to us, and not happen to us.

Nothing in life is easy, and nothing is fair. We decide to be happy and content, or we decide to not be.

You make a very good point. More people should ask this. Unfortunately what is important to some...their plans are often very different from those around them. Therefore if those around them are included in their plans it makes it very difficult to get where you want to be. But as always you have nothing to lose...accept everything sometimes.

10 years ago, I asked myself this, and set goals to make it happen. Now I'm where I wanted to be.

5, 10, 15 years from now, I want to be the major positive influence in my childrens lives (along with their father). Hell, I'm starting that now.

What about you PR?

All I know is that in less than ten years, my house will be paid off...wooohooo!

On a side note....I LOVE the avs of all the female posters in this thread! :rose:

In ten years I will be financially independent. I will be able to make choices in my life that aren't bound to a particular job. I will be able to provide to those dependent on me. I will be somewhere warmer. That may not sound like much, but the road to getting there from where I am now has just begun and my journey is not without passengers.
