Here. I know every generation of youngsters has to do their stupid thing from sniffing glue to lying in the street, but...yikes. :(
 
We had a 9 year old girl a couple years ago in our little town die form the same thing... 9...

This kind of thing goes back as far as 1970. When I was in 7th grade, it was something girls did at slumber parties, after the ouji board got boring.
 
We used to do something like the choking game in the 1950's when I was a preteen. We called it putting somebody to sleep, or something like that. One boy would stand behind the other and the one in front would take a series of deep breaths, holding te last one. The boy behind him would hug him tightly around the chest, even lifting him off the ground until the one holding his breath exhaled and usually fell to the ground. I don't recall anybody ever getting hurt.
 
People die from this, yet kids still think they are invincible. I did when I was young, yet I never let someone chock me out. My vice was tooling down the highway at 120 mph or street racing. I think I came to my senses about five years ago. :eek:
