It was our 18th birthday, but the day was completely overshadowed by the ceremony taking place in our small ballroom. Athene didn't notice as I climbed the stairs to the narrow balcony which gave a secluded view of the room below. She was halfway along the balcony and was staring with wide eyes at the activity below. We both knew that as the daughter, one day she would take her Mother's place as High Priestess of this exclusive sect, a sect whose purpose was to worship the pleasures of the body.
Drums were throbbing, a rhythm that flooded the senses. I watched as our Mother was led by five naked men to the head of a raised bench. She was dressed in a flowing crimson robe that fell to her feet. Everyone else in the room, men and women alike were dressed in a simple white robe.
The High Priestess, our Mother, stepped smoothly and easily to stand on the dais. She loosened her robe then let it fall to the floor. She was now naked and everyone gazed at her stunning voluptuous figure.
