Rep. Ken Buck to leave Congress next week, shrinking GOP's razor-thin majority

Republican Rep. Ken Buck, who already announced he would not be seeking reelection, announced Tuesday he will leave Congress at the end of next week.

Bye ya'.

I don't know who (if anyone) will replace him between now and the June Republican primary or November election.

This is the deep-red district that Lauren Boebert announced she'll be running in.

Perhaps mainstream Republicans (if there are any) worked out a deal to install the front-running candidate (Boebert in a distant 4th place) to the office in order to give that person the general benefit of "incumbency".

Not to go too deep down this rabbit hole, but it'd be a Machiavellian way to hammer a wooden stake into Boebert's heart.

Apparently, Buck implied he may not the only Republican representative to be resigning.

The last time this district did elect a Boebert-like candidate (early 2000s), she ended up losing to a Democrat. No small accomplishment in a district this red. (Naturally that Dem only lasted one term, but still.)

Boobert announced she won't be running in the special election to replace Ken Buck. Because conspiracies!

Well well well....The Colorado Republican party has selected a candidate to fill Ken Buck's unexpired term in Congress. They can nominate whoever they like (still has to run against a Democrat, but this is an 80% MAGA district)

The state party showed their cards today and selected......a good buddy of Boebert's, who will just keep the seat warm until she can run in the general election. He will NOT run for regular election.

Looks like the Colorado state Republican machine WANTS Boebert in the 4th district and is now stacking the deck on her behalf. Fuck the citizens there, y'know?

what she lacks in governing and parenting skills she makes up for in public service
