The Bitch Thread

Certain people who are in the bedroom next door to me should turn off their cell phone if they're going to get text messages at midnight.
Nuff said.
sigh
It's Ativan time, and I try not to take it.
I'm averaging one night a week, and my doc would say that's fine, but I don't like it, its addictive potential disturbs me.
I guess I'm making too much of it - it's a 60 tablet script and I last refilled it in August, bust I really feel I've been using too much of it lately.

Ok, kinda a bitch and kinda a 'what do i do'. So I redid my story 'Possession'. I changed it to third person and added a part. Then I tried to figure out how to delete stories on lit, I couldn't find a way. So I went ahead and submitted the new Possession and put in the notes that it was a new one, and could they please delete the old one? So I went today to see what my status was (yesterday it was 'pending') and the whole damn story is GONE. Plus the old one is still htere.

Sorry I missed this before graceanne. Did you get it sorted out? For us when we want to resubmit a story, we have always used the usual way through your member page, then when you scroll down you will see the box for 'notes' which are things not to be published but read by the webmaster, and there you request it be a replacement for the original piece. Don't know if that is how you did it but has worked for us. :rose:

I did. I put in the notes area that it was a re-make of my possession, and could they please delete the old one, and put that one in? I didn't get a reply or anything, but when I went to see if it was up (in the control area) the entire redo wasn't even there. Normally if something's denied it'll still be there, with something that says 'denyed', but their's no story at all.

I don't know why the story would just be gone, but if you want to resubmit a story or change something in the one that's already posted, you give it the same name but add the word EDITED to the name. Then, in the notes at the bottom, say why you want the story replaced with the edited one.

Once the new story is posted (and they have removed the EDITED part of the name) it just replaces the version you want gone. It's a computer thing. You can't have two files of the exact name in your member's area.

You can do this on a story, if you find spelling errors, or if you want to submit a better version, at a later date. Now, I've never had a story denied, so I don't know how that works. But, I agree with you that the story shouldn't just be gone.

You said you are trying to delete a story that has been denied? It just stays there, in your member's area, even if it's been denied? Maybe they always expect you to resubmit it, and by the same name, as I mentioned above (using the EDITED thing). Sorry, I"m at a loss for smarts on any of that. I know...unusual for me, isn't it?

Weird...and DVS is right about the EDITED thing after the title...been so long since I have submitted here I had forgotted that bit. I would check with Manu to see what happened.

Hm. I think I put 'Possession (redone)' for the title. I can't recall for certain, though. I'll have to re-submit it to be sure.

I'm not trying to delete a story that's been denied, though. Possession, the original one, is there. I re-did the story. It was in first person, now it's in third person, and I added a part. I just want to delete the old one, and put in the new one. lol

My bad. Your other post mentioned something being denied. I just went with it.

Yeah, maybe resubmit again with the exact same name, except add EDITED in there. Then, in the notes, say you are submitting and updated version of the story.

Fucking jerkoffs. I'm sorry i'm not vacant and stupid. I'm sorry i've no intrest in acting like a doormat to people who are NOT my Dom.

Sometimes I get really frustrated with my body. I had this lovely little (well not so little) problem occur before I was with F. Basically I have this huge keloid scar running from just below my waistline to just below pantyline...one day I noticed that at the base there was this small black spot like someone had placed it there with a lead pencil. I kept an eye on it and it went from that to bigger, then all shades of purple and red, then opened up into a round hole about 1/2 inch across and wet. I went to the doctor, was eventually sent to the hospital for all sorts of tests including an ultrasound which didn't solve the mystery but showed there was no infection at all, nothing left in the wound from the operation which caused the scarsome 20 years earlier, just a hole going deep inside. It didn't even hurt, just leaked all over my clothes if not covered and redressed several times a day, and looked awful. It remained for about 6 months, nothing worked to clear it up until my beautiful doctor decided to experiment with a seaweed pack. Miraculously it disappeared after a few days as if it had never been.

Well now I have seen the little black dot again, and F checked it and confirmed I was not seeing things, and it has started going pretty colours. I don't want to go there again, especially as I am not in Oz and have no idea if I can get the same treatments that were used in Oz. Of course he has taken it upon himself to treat it with Pawpaw ointment every day which has seemed to help, but which makes my skin crawl (hate any purposeful touching of the scar) and encourages him to drag it out for his sadistic pleasure. I only hope it decides to disappear before opening into the pit of nothingness again. :(

Wow, cat, how scary. *hugs*

edited to add: i had something similar happen with my cesarian scar. Evidently the top layer of skin didn't seal with the bottom, or something, and I got his little area that started gathering puss. Then my scar opened a bit to let the puss out. The doctor cleaned it out and sewed it all together again. Only time in my life I"ve had stitches wide awake.

Hmm.
I've had a lot of luck with Vitamin E in the concentrated form for making scars heal and behave nicely. My dermatologist also told me to massage it myself until I could feel the blood coming to it. This lets it heal faster. I have few scars from mole removal on my face, and a large one in my hair, and it wasn't behaving (I had a different plastic surgeon for that one) and after a while it got better. Probably seemed a lot longer than it was.

Around here, if I were looking for a seaweed pack, I would go to a Chinese medicine place. Are there any at all over there?

Tried Vitamin E last time and it did nothing which surprised me. What surprised the hospital and doctors most was that there was no bacteria or signs of infection inside, just a hole going through me. If I end up needing it and can't get seaweed through anywhere here, I will resort to the internet or getting someone from home to send me some. My doctor there was Chines and she worked from combining western and chinese methods with natural therapies. She was an nexceptional doctor and the only one who ever managed to make general anaesthetic block pain for my son. All other doctors gave up and told him he just was imagining it or had to put up with it. She didn't know what we know now about my son's condition, but she used her head and tried something different which worked....and was also amusing to listen to my son during. :D

So . . . on Thursday K had a physical. His new job normally insists on them before they start work, but the dr they use couldn't see K till Thursday. Evidently he has a very small hernia in his groin. We think he must have got it when it snowed in january. He took the kids sledding and slipped in the ice, nearly doing the splits. So now he needs to have it repaired before it becomes a BIG hernia. The problem is that we don't have insurance. So I guess we'll just be going further into debt to OHSU (the university hospital) to get this taken care of.

Plus, his work laid him off till he gets this hernia taken care of. So now we're on unemployment, which is NOT ENOUGH.

My oldest, A, has struggled off an on with asthma. Never been much of an issue - she's just needed her fast relief inhaler once in a blue moon. I don't know what it is, but the last two weeks she's been using it daily. She's had a sore throat and swollen glands, and coughs quite a bit. I was hoping to get insurance before it got too bad, but last night I had to take her into the ER. She coughed for a straight hour, no breaks in the coughing. After two hours of waiting she was doing a bit better (the ER was air conditioned and no where near as humid as it was outside), so they just gave me a script for five days worth of prenisone, and told me to make an appointment with her primary asap.

I got her in this evening. They want to give her the full five days of prednisone, and have prescribed a steroid inhaler for the next few months, when I will have to take her back in to be re-evuluated. They're also having her take another kind of allergy medicine (I had her taking just claritin, now she's taking that and singulair).

That said I AM EXHAUSTED. A's outside playing, and she got less sleep than me (coughing). I am getting to old to stay up all night.

Asthma can be like that. Right now they're trying to figure out what's going with me and coughing because my asthma isn't active. They've dialed down my inhaler and it feels awful. But then I'm also on my drug holiday for my benzodiazepene, so it's bad either way.
I take something called Symbicort, which has a controller drug and a relief drug together in it. (budesonide - controller, formetorol - relief/rescue). They've discovered that combining the drugs in the inhaler helps. There is another one out there called Advair. Both of them can be used on children. You might want to consider those, but they're daily therapies - you're supposed to stay on them. The Symbicort was cheaper - they both cost the same but the Symbicort had twice the doses in it.
Does your daughter have a peak flow meter? They're really important, essential in asthma management, and they're not too expensive. She blows into it every day and you measure the reading compared to her best reading. On mine, green is great, yellow is ok, hatched yellow I need to see my doctor, and red I should go to the ER. It is also an easy way to determine whether something is asthma or something else - even with the coughing I was steady on the PFM.
The one I use is called Tru-Zone, and it works for kids too.
My brother was taking five inhalers as a kid and he grew out of it, so there is hope!

Advair is the name of her steroid inhaler, I think. No we don't have a peak flow meter. I wonder if I need a script to get one.

*screame* Well, they deleted my new 'possession', A-FUCKING-GAIN! I even did what dvs suggeted, put 'edited' in the title. It completely NOT THERE. Not even there with a 'rejected' thing next to it. Fucking lit.

I got one from my doctor free when my daughter developed asthma at age 7. She was on two types of inhaler (both powder) - a preventer which she used twice a day and a reliever which she used when she got breathless during exercise and if she got a cold or flu. She grew out of it by age 14, so yes there is hope gracie :) :rose:

Her outgrowing it has always been my hope. I know that children generally outgrow asthma, but people who develop it in their teens and as adults keep it.
