Nope, right side. Phew. Cause some of the symptoms matched appendicitis.

Or the gallstone one

But they're both the right side.

Well, that's good.

Why not go see your dr? It'll at least settle your mind.

You're gonna make her think she's sick when she really isn't. Twinges are nothing. And, I don't know for sure where the gallbladder is, but the appendix is down below your belly button, and to the right.

There's any number of things that could be causing this. I get dizzy and I've told my doctor. He just gives me this weird look and say. "really?" and that's it. I guess I"m not going to die. LOL.

I got mildly sick and was struggling with weekness. My dr told me it was depresssion. Then I started bleeding. My dr told me it was hemroids. Then I started puking violently and couldn't walk more than a couple of steps. My dr told me it was the flu. It wasn't till I nearly bled to death that someone took me seriously.

Doctors are fucking morons. They dont' have one brain cell to rub together.

I agree Graceanne. I work in a trauma center. But, to pick nits, wouldn't they need at least two brain cells if they're going to rub them together?

Like the American Family Association (AFA) OOOOOOooooohh discriminatory, ignorant pissants!!!!!!!!!! They applauded the school that suspended a kid for speaking spanish in the hallway. Hello this is AMERICA LAND OF THE FREE and all that good constitutional shit! Homophobic idiots! My mother always said that people are afraid of what isn't "normal" in their little bubble, but they aren't willing to learn about it. Instead they fight to stop it. Shit heads. Afraid of gays because it isn't "right in they eyes of the bible" Trying to ban Harry Potter because "it's part of a plan to destroy american values in children by teaching them to accept cursing, magic and the occult" JEEEESUUUUS CHRIIIIIIIST (yeah, my current favorite curse word, sorry gracie) Damnit wy can't they keep to their fucking mouths shut for OUR sake for once. LOL, and don't talk about picking nits, I'm a teacher.
Now my head itches.

Look, the only thing there is the spleen. The spleen can become enlarged if you have mono/Epstein-Barr.
I don't think I do.
The other causes are all, like, leukemia and shit like that. Even if I had them, which I don't, they take a while to get worse so I'm okay to move out of the classroom.

It also looks like it could be my IBS, though it almost never causes any symptoms other than sudden runs that don't last, and that's a different pain for me. Cramping.
Or it could be my anemia, except it would mean that my anemia was another kind.
Or it could be my depression and anxiety, except that they're medicated and not causing too many problems at the moment.
WebMD has succeeded in confusing me.
So let's just say the tummy pain is stress. Does the other shit mean anything?

I had indigestion all last week, which was unusual.
Now I have dizziness and nausea and - um, not quite the runs, but needing more fibre...And the nausea and dizziness are all day.
Also splitting headaches just before bed. Two nights in a row. I was almost crying last night 'cause I couldn't find my migraine meds.
I may also have a fever, but it's hard to tell at my school because we are having problems with the heating. It would be a mildish one if there is one.
Any ideas what the hell's wrong with me?
It's not an ear infection, I know that, and I don't think it's a sinus infection...
And this wierd twinging feeling just below my bra strap on my left side, kind of under the boob...
I'm trying to figure out if I'm actually sick or not.

Edited to add: Not to say this is as important as what some of y'all are going through, but I need ot know if I actually am sick because I leave my job in less than ten days and still have to pack.

You are sick. It may be a passing thing but I've had the same symptoms now for while. Two weeks ago yesterday the indigestion thing started, that last for a week and a half at least with some diarrhea the first day. (Imodium helps for that.) Followed closely by this strange upper respiratory thing with coughing, dizziness (sometimes extreme and always at unexpected times) nausea , hot and cold shakes from time to time, sore throat, voice problems plus assorted aches particularly headaches!

I don't know what it is. I just know it's something.

I figure it will go away on it's on but if you go to the doctor and get a diagnoses let me know what the hell it is, okay?

*hugs*

Well, I had what I thought was a cold, and then it turned into larengitis (sp) that has lasted for almost two weeks now. Well, I have my voice back, but if I talk too much, a cough starts and my voice gets worse. Before the last few days, I just had no voice. It didn't hurt, and there was no cough.

I was taking Zicam, for the cold (damn thing only lasted a week), so maybe I had some of your symptoms but they didn't manafest, because I was taking the Zicam. Who knows. Actually, it was the first cold that didn't take much of a tole on my mind. I was impressed with the Zicam or whatever else happened that made it less of a hassle for me.

The no voice thing is strange, though. It's the first time for me. Not talking is difficult for me. Can't you tell, from this post? Even when you can't hear me talk, I talk a lot.

But, I agree, it would be nice if she goes to the doctor and finds out what it is. We all might have parts of the same thing, just not all of us are affected the same way.

True dat!

My kids once both had the same thing, strep throat but it presented differently in both of them, I would have never connected the two sets of symtoms.

I hate losing my voice. In fact, I live in fear of it. Since I have a sore throat most mornings and I am a story teller by profession it's a pretty big problem. My ENT dude keeps me talking with his butt shots and expensive drugs though. *knocks on wood*

You already probably know this but doctors are pretty much taught in med school that all of us females are outta our minds and most of our "illnesses" are due to the fact we blow everything out of proportion, are depressed and too anxious. To them there isn't a snowballs chance in hell we actually know anything about our own bodies. They are the lords and we are the idiots to them.

That's what they believe .

This is why I tend to avoid them like the plague, until and unless I have to seek medical attention.

I dunno, I'm too dizzy right now to know if I'm making any sense. Did that make sense?

I do know that. What's more obnoxious is that I see mostly female doctors. They should KNOW that not only women are like that. And not all women are like that. If anything I'm more likely to not say anything. I'm really sick before I go see one of those morons.

Yeah but guess what? They have to believe it, it's part of medical training! LOL! It's sad really.

Wow. So my COLD was part of this? Hmm. This is very odd. So this happened before (with the indigestion) and after my cold, and might be related.

*sigh*

Well, I have a physical coming up. They're supposed to call me with the date so I'll wait for that before I call.

I also told them about the dizziness and nausea, told them I was doing BRAT (bananas, rice, applesauce, toast) and asked if there was anything else I should do. They'll call me back later, it was a message.

BTW, scads of kids (not in my class) at the school are going home with similar symptoms, except with vomiting. It might just be - ooh I forget the name. What things like the Norwalk thing is. Things that pass around really easily and get Public Health involved. I think the acronym is three lettters.

Interestingly, my class is just fine, and we make washing our hands right before both lunches a daily event.

Well, actually, some kids have said their stomach hurts, but they do that a lot, and are back the next day, so I don't think this is related.

i don't need this right now - the Grand Opening of our school is today.

I sure hope it has gone well. Very stressful for you no doubt. Stay well, keep washing hands, and invest in hand sanitizer stuff.

When is the holiday break for you?

Both of my kids and now my husband all have this thing too, yay.

I call myself being very careful in general. This time of year my hands tend to be chapped from washing so often.

I rarely touch kids at my gigs except for giving them a hand stamp.

I always keep hand sanitizer in the car and use it before and after each gig.

Sometimes kids do give me hugs but I never initiate such because when I worked for a library, sadly, hugs were on the list of things parents could blow out of portion.

I think I'm thinking of enteric viruses. Not sure tho.
Yeah, my hands are chapped too.
No one hugs me much. They've grown out of that by Grade 2.
And their desks get wiped down with vinegar&water 2x a day and washed by the caretaker at night.
Strangely, no one in my class has really been sick. We have all present more often than not.
Okay, the doc says BRAT is fine but not for too long, and recommends Gaviscon Tablets - two after every meal and just before bedtime.
If it continues over a week I need to book an appointment, so hope that helps, Fury.
Oh and a tip: I usually take cool showers, in fact often the mirror doesn't even fog - but today I took a hot shower instead - almost too hot to be comfortable for the first few minutes - and I feel GREAT!
Give it a try, I swear, Fury.
It just seems to have helped enourmously

Thanks for the report Brioche!

Mine has already been over a week but the gastric portion has toned down some thank goodness!

Well I don't do the BRAT thing, hardly ever, I eat what I want, when I want and trust my instincts on what I need to feel better. It's never anything on the BRAT diet.

Kids who have stomach aches often are just unhappy, IMO. I remember someone told me in early grade school that girls were not supposed to be good at math. I was very good at math and loved it so much back then but suddenly I started having tummy aches during the math class time. Now I said kids are "just," but don't get me wrong, those things hurt like a son of a bitch, I remember them well.

That's why even if it's an emotional or psychosomatic thing I know it still physically really hurts the child. Sure they can come back to school the next day but if this persists, something is wrong somewhere, in that child's world, at least that is what I believe. See kids don't understand emotions that well, they don't know how to express them so they either act out or get physical manifestations of the emotions. Well, you're a teacher so you probably know all that.

I always take dangerously hot showers. The only time I don't is when I feel I might pass out from the heat and steam, that hasn't happened in a while, not since I tended to be anemic. I'm really bad about it, my skin tends to be RED when I come out of the shower. I LOVE showers!

That is sad. :( What's even sadder is that parents have to worry about this stuff. Some creep was following my daughter around on Runescape asking her name etc., wtf? So she invited him out to the wilderness(where players can kill other players), and her brother and his friends killed the asshat. Let's hear it for the resourcefulness of 11 and 12 year olds. Scary, though, that they have to be.

I'm not big on showers, but I love hot baths. I've had them so hot that I got dizzy and nauseous(sp?). When I was preggo I was allowed in hot tubs - they were cooler than my baths.

I'm actually not a big proponent of the BRAT diet myself - I hate bananas. But when I was commuting to Toronto my digestive system coudn't take much and I had to scale down.
Did you know bagels are hard on your stomach? I was having two a day...
Anyway, even doing it for a day or two helps a lot sometimes.
Of course, I just bought Rolaids softchews, so let's acknowledge the fact that I have no intention of remaining on BRAT.

One of my kids is at a SK level and is in Grade 2. I have only just got her help. Not surprisingly, she has tummy aches all the time because her modifications to program haven't taken effect yet.

I talked to her mother about this and mentioned that I will not be letting her call home for stomach aches anymore, unless they are accompanied by vomiting.
It still happens daily, and I know it hurts (I had them as a child), but I tell her she's not sick and to get back to work.
One of the other kids got them quite a bit because he was scared of another kid.
I took care of that and he's a happy camper now.
Finally, some of the kids are having trouble knowing that I'm leaving next week and that makes them nervous. So, more tummy aches.

I mostly just get them to put their heads down on their desks.

Baths for me is where I think about killing myself so I don't do them much and never alone.

Wha? You were allowed to take hot spa tub type things when you were pregnant? I thought that was not recommended because of the baby?

My OB said it's one of those 'they don't know how you'll react so they don't let you' type things, and that she didn't think it would hurt. What they're worried about is that your body temp will get to high, which I think is ridiculous. She did say not to have any bubbles - which I don't like anyway. Evidently one could slip up the vagina and into the cervix and cause problems. But I also explained to her how hot my baths are, and I take one of them every night. And did through all my pregnancys.
