friday morning at 330 am she ran across interstate 45 by the time i saw her it was too late. she had ran into my front bumber.

later that day they scrapped her dead carcass off the side of the road.

the FUCKING DEER COST ME A RADIATOR AND WILL REQUIRE ME TO SPEND ALMOST 2000 IN REPAIRS TO THE FRONT OF MY TRUCK.

I've been there, man. I swear the AIM for you sometimes.

The one I hit faked to the left and then cut right into me.

I hit two last year and missed about ten of the bastards by inches. I hate driving around here in the early morning.

Be thankful it was not a cow. In Washington state, it is mostly range land, and if you hit a cow, you have to pay for it too!

Sometimes it is the small blessings that see us through!

Honey and I hit a deer about a year ago on the highway.. we were going about 100km/h and she jumped over the median, right into the driver's front and side panel of honey's BMW. Nasty bill on that one.. we're insured, so we didn't have to pay for it, but it cost $3500 in damage. At least she died on impact, though... no suffering for a long time.

Where I live hitting a deer happens all the time, though I've been lucky so far *knocks on wood*

But I've been the passenger with a few that's had that happen, and several times when the deer actually hit us.

Not turning it in on your insurance so that your premium doesn't get bumped up?

It should be a comp claim.. comp claims shouldn't raise your premium unless you have a bunch of them over a course of the year.

lol I wasn't sure how that worked, I do know of a few people that pay for that out of their pocket instead of turning it in.

Another time when I should shush unless I actually know what I'm talking about. :)

Actually.. I only knew because I asked my father in law. I happened to be on the phone talking to him about the best way to claim a dent in my ex husbands truck.. that my boyfriend and son caused.

It could have been a lot worse - my brother hit/got hit by one a few years ago - rolled the truck down a hill - doctor said he dislocated his shoulder on roll 1 or 2 and re-located it on roll 3, 4, 5, 6 or 7!!! And sadly my brother was without insurance at the time! (and sometimes he's a real idiot and didn't have his seatbelt on!)

Why do I sense that there is a good story in there? :)

LOL

short version-Son is buying ex husbands truck when he turns 16 in a few months. My current boyfriend installed a stereo into ex husbands truck this past weekend. No one drove the truck.. but while it was in our pocession it somehow got a dent. (not an overly large one.. but big enough that it needs to be fixed). They think it happened when they were removing the bungee cords that were holding the tarp. Anyway.. I told my ex husband that we would pay for it. He said no.. he would. So its been a race to see who can get to their insurance first.

I think what is going to end up happening is. He will claim it on his insurance.. and we will pay his deductable. (even though he is saying no.. that he will pay for it. He can be a stubborn ass at times. ;))

*note* Just incase you don't know.. my ex husband, his wife, my boyfriend and I are all best friends.

I think that's wonderful that you're all best friends! We should all be so lucky to have close relationships like that with our ex's. :)

Not to be nosy and you don't even have to answer, but if your 16 year old son is also his son, you should both just split the deductable. But either way.. great that no one was upset over the matter.

Because boyfriend did damage while son was at work. We think. Not really sure how it happened. I noticed the dent on Sunday afternoon after Mr Freaky went to work. I asked Ben if it was there before.. he said he didn't think so. Asked Ex husband and he said no, it hadn't been there. I'm assuming Mr Freaky did it on accident. So I feel we should pay. For some reason Ex husband doesn't think so.

I just got back from meeting my ex husband. The damage was only $200... his deductable is $200. He isn't claiming it on his insurance. I wrote him a check.. but I have a feeling it will never go through the bank. I knew I should have taken cash!

You think this is bad in a CAR, I have a friend who was on a rural road doing 60 (MPH you Canadians) when a deer leapt out in front of him
Deer hopped away, friend spent 3 1/2 months in hospital
Helmet saved his life, if it hadn't happened before they repealed out helmet law he'd be a dead friend

(altho I still think it should be a matter of choice, as our law now states :) )

Should I expect a news item on this evening's news about someone blowing his head off with a .50 calibre machine gun ? Ah, perchance to dream.

Last time that happened to me, I had to walk half a mile to my dad's house to get his .357 so I could put the poor animal out of its misery. I never shot anything point blank in the head before while looking into its eye.
