I have been a member of lit for quite some time, and have always been mildly curious of what the little icons appearing next to author names mean. If someone could please inform or direct me to a link that might help, would greatly appreciate it. I wasn't nearly so paranoid until an "H" appeared beside my most recent submission, and started to panic that perhaps it stood for "Hated it!"

Wherever the appropriate help files are, I have yet to locate them.

The little frog is kind of amusing, so I will include him in this message in the hopes of enticing replies.

H - The Red 'H' indicates that the story is Hot! This is achieved when the voting average is 4.50 or better after ten votes.

E - The Green 'E' indicates the story is an Editor's Choice. This happens when the Lit Editors (submission approval committee) really likes the story.

W - The Blue 'W' indicates that the story is a contest Winner.

I just looked at my Lit. story list for the first time in months. Those haitches musn't be too hard to get, because almost all my stuff (except the Dubious Dictionary, the Hippo essay, etc.) were so designated. Whoever awards them things must just like poorly written smut. That I can do. Hooray for me.

But readers are funny. Sometimes stories I believe to be my better works score lower than others of less "quality" (maybe the stories didn't have enough anal sex for that day's readers - who knows?)

I have a similar problem. I am more into the mental aspects of domination and submission then so much the physical, but when I write that way I recieve feedbacks wondering where all the spanking and anal pentatration is. My other story didn't do nearly as well as my most recent, and I think that is because I put more vulgarity into it. I suppose as long as you include words like "ass cheek," "pussy", and "sopping tunnel", the readers are reasonably content.

I best stop now. I am trying to keep my virgin status.
