If I didn’t know any better, I would say that you’re only using this thread to launch personal attacks and could care less on the topic of broadband or the myriad other issues that you’ve raised.

The tax wedge is a legitimate consideration.

And yeah, there ARE other taxes that fall disproportionately hard on the working poor. (And yes, many of them work extremely hard too; and for a lot less than I imagine you pay yourself).

Also: You are very likely NOT one of the ultra-wealthy who unduly benefits from the legislation they themselves ghost write and then pay their political (“republican”) lackeys to pass into law.

No, I'm not using any thread to launch any personal attacks, I wouldn't ever Intentionally belittle someone for their opinions. And would apologize if my statements came across as belittling. Truth of the matter is I just don't have time to knowing belittle folk...that being said...... butters did refer to me as being a liar....... hope this helps

And your correct I'm not ultra wealthy. But I'm comfortable..... and for the record I do despise taxes.. taxes steal money from me. when distilled down to it's lowest form, it's time that is stolen from me. Priceless, irreplaceable time.... I believe that's what irks me most.......

can't see what the dope is saying but if that's referring to me, then yes, yes i have. I consistently try to offer validation for opinions regarding U.S politics/economy structures/decisions i make using American sources from places that should know about these things. I'm learning along the way. And from what i see posted on a daily basis, plus all i don't see from the iggy list posters, i'm not doing too bad a job of trying to keep abreast of things. I'd say my understanding far outstrips a lot of posters (the numpties) even as i acknowledge my own lack of the same compared to the more cognizant, all-American posters here.

Maybe this makes me a socialist, but I've never gone with the view that taxes are to be avoided, they are evil, they are theft by the state etc. etc.

People who say that are voting for holes in the road, for poor education of the people who are going to be paying for your pension, for an underfunded military. Be honest, say that these things are what you support.
 
Love, love this subject! Could converse on it all day! I will piggyback on your comment to say that I accept being called a progressive socialist. Wish we were truly under a progressive tax system but we’re not. Trump can pay more in taxes to China than the $750 he once did here in the United States. Fortune 500 companies that pay zero tax dollars! Mitt Romney and his venture capitalist buddies grudgingly paying 12% - 15% on the income that they didn’t hide in tax shelters. Warren Buffett pining about his secretary paying into a higher tax bracket than he does. No one likes taxes, but I’m proud to pay into the American system. That’s patriotism. Avoiding paying your taxes is fraud and cheating the future of the benefits that got many of us to where we are today. My humble opinion.
 
Biden will never be as progressive as I would like him to be but I like Bidenomics touting an attempt at working from the middle class out rather than the constant failings of top down capitalism.

Maybe Biden was trying to explain why Trump took those historic Israeli artefacts to Mar a Lardo after the WH ceremony and won't give them back.
