The comment Biden is tougher on China than Trump is irrelevant. Neither is doing the job. The policy I believe that starting to take hold was lower corporate taxes providing incentives to get manufacturing back to the states. Tariffs were a crap shoot.

“Deficit with China fell: Trump was successful in bringing down the bilateral trade deficit with China, as result of the tariffs he imposed on more than $350 billion worth of Chinese goods. Final figures show the trade gap with China totaled $311 billion in 2020, down sharply to the record high of $419 billion in 2018.”

But to be fair our trade deficit under Trump shrunk with China but rose with other major markets. Biden says he wants to bring manufacturing back to the states but what his policies are I have no clue considering all green energy investment and initiatives go through China.
