The Best Music For Writing Erotica

I have a tendency to get distracted and sing if I listen to music. So I normally have the TV on something that I've either seen a million times (Law & Order's a huge one) or I put on a movie with the same purpose. :)

Yeah, I do the same thing in the mornings. Got Jake 2.0 on the sci-fi channel going on behind me right now.

That's what I do too, however, it's been Nikelodean lately, when I do write, that is. I haven't much time (or attention span enough) except to write poetry.

Celtic songs. I like the music and there is no singing to distract me.
I have no Celtic instrumentals.
In my list, I have;
The Pogues
The Chieftans
Christy Moore
Ashley Macissac
Planxty
Van Morrison
Siobhan O' Connor...

You guys don't know what your missing. Make a playlist with...

Toto
Celine Dion
Kenny G
Michael Bolton
AC/DC
Justin (does he need a last name now?)
Wham!
Mike Jones

...shuffle play and watch the words magically appear on the page...if your head doesn't explode.

I pick what I'm listening to depending on what sort of passage I am writing. Something romantic and mellow calls for different background music than horny housewives on the prowl or evil predators lurking in the shadows. I can't even begin to imagine listening to Enya while writing something raunchy and nasty. Ok, really I can't imagine listening to Enya anytime, but you get my drift. (My apologies to Enya fans the world over.)

Duran, Duran, Tesla, Nirvana, Bush, INXS, I have soundtracks made to just get my imagination to flowing. Helps when I am writing or drawing. :)

Absolute silence. The dialog drives my characters and I need the quiet so that I can listen to them fill it up.

I am fond of instrumentals while I write. Typically I listen to piano sonatas by Beethoven. I do try to restrict it to the ones I do not know how to play as it moves my hands in other ways. Either that or silence, mostly.
