There have been accusations like that for years. Some are true. I think Joe Rogan and a guest brought it up on one of the podcasts.

Also, Jay Mohr is an admitted comedy plagiarist. In his 2004 book Gasping For Airtime, which recounts his tumultuous two-season stint on Saturday Night Live, Mohr details an infamous incident in which he took a New York comedian's joke and turned it into a sketch. NBC was forced to settle with the joke's originator, but Mohr himself escaped any serious repercussions.

I've never watched much SNL, clips, it kinda died in after 95', but it seems to me Trump revitalized their ratings in 2016/2017, but they're on a downward slide again (not much). They've been on 44 years and they'll be on forever ... I mean, Sat at 00:30 it comes on? (I'm not going to check). Why not keep shitty comics who cost nothing?
