Actually, a friend of mine. He has a bass voice that is simply fantastic. He has enough range to sing tenor OK. What's really amazing is his range of styles. He's got a great gospel voice and really nails it. But his real passion is opera, and I've heard him sing Italian Opera as well as Pavarotti. Honest. I've also heard him sing show tunes as well as Bing Crosby. The dude is amazing.

If you want famous singers. I'm a huge fan of Bing Crosby.
I'm also a huge fan of Grace Slick and Janice Joplin.
I'd be remiss if I didn't mention Marvin Gaye and Stevie Wonder.
I like Billy Joel too.
