That's such a difficult question. It depends on the situation. Sometimes, you can turn a bad situation into something very good, with a little work. And that can be a lot easier than starting over again.

Also, my experience has been that the grass always seems greener, but each situation has it's own unique problems.

So, yes, in some cases, I sure would. Life is too short to be unhappy when you don't have to. But I'm careful in choosing when to use exit and when to use voice.

I hate to admit it.. but I'm a secret Shaun White fan during olympic season. I'm just amazed at the guts it takes to be willing to fail as many times as it must take before you finally learn a new skill.

not crazy regularly.. but I do. Whenever I travel, I arrange a massage/facial. I get maintenance massages - they're covered by my health insurance and I find that the stress helps me to keep my health goals on track.

Well, I guess in a sense I caused my own recently. A position came up about two years ago. I didn't need to take it, and in many ways, it's surprising that I did. The position, while still "mostly" what I've always done, now has me dealing more with "the public" in ways that are both difficult and fun. I gave a talk yesterday to over 300 people, and another today to 35. Similar things. While I'm not new to public speaking by any stretch, the audience is very different. I'm learning to use less technical terms. Learning to write for people outside my profession. Learning marketing and personnel management and other administrative things. It's really something of a shift from the kind of esoteric stuff I have done for he last 20 years.
How am I responding. Sometimes I wonder "WTF were thinking?!?" Everything was good. I didn't need to do this. I liked my life before and this brings me certain hassles that I'm not comfortable with always.
Sometimes it's very exciting and good.
Overall though, what I realized about 6 or 7 years ago was that to stay happy, we need to find new challenges. To be "the new guy" again, and figure out how to do that. This was an opportunity to jump into that. And, overall, while sometimes it's been difficult (my scotch consumption has risen), I'm glad I did. Although today, I'm tired.

Usually for me, about 3-5. I'm not always right, but usually I am.
