The anticipation

This is NOT a complaint, but the anticipation of story posting approval airways kills me. I'm waiting for part 7 of my story to post so I can post part 8 (the "final" part). Which I just finished. Being proud of my story, I love the feedback, good or bad. Good tells me I'm doing okay, and people are enjoying it. Bad tells me what I'm doing that people don't enjoy and I can grow as a writer.

Anyway... 10 days and waiting.

10 days seems a bit long. Have you looked to see if its still in pending and not under sent back for some reason?
Things are backed up here due to all the new forum changes and assorted issues, but you may want to send Laurel a message directly through the conversations here and ask about it

It's pending. It says waiting for approval.

My sympathies. I waited a week for mine to post. It's maddening. From what I've recently learned, submitting a file for your story takes longer than pasting into the submittal box. Not sure if this applies in your case, but I'm going to try it for part 2 (of 6) of mine

Good luck!

Hmmm... 10 days for a part of a series is a long time. You might want to PM(conversation envelope up top right) Laurel. Contests shouldn't hold up a story that long, unless is was found to have questionable content and Laurel just hasn't had the time to look at it.

Not really, the process is automatic for converting the word doc to text.

Waited a week for a story to be posted? How can you complain about that?

When I began submitting my first 3/4 stories took a week but since then it’s always been less (but I never submit during competitions) sometimes only 3 days which is nothing.

I’ve always submitted a file, in Word, and never pasted. Never had a problem with it being delayed. If there is a problem such as a lengthy time after submission I would say, with all due respect, it’s down to the writer.

We can never know about the days to come
But we think about them anyway
And I wonder if I'm really with you now
Or just chasin' after some finer day

This site is about in the middle. One site takes, it seems, nearly three weeks to post something. Another one does it in less than six hours. Of course, I don't think anyone at the latter one reads or checks whatever they are publishing.

My last story took fourteen days to post, but it was during the April Fools contest period, submitted as a Word doc, and over 108K words. That is the longest I have ever waited.

10 days is a long time. PM Laurel. When I was a newbie, my average time from submission to publication was around 5 days, and now it's 2-3. 10 is a long time. Be pushy.

When one of mine has gone over three days, I zero in on it being some sort of glitch in the system (and it always has been). After day five, I've sent a polite "has it fallen between the stools?" note directly to Laurel, the sole submissions editor. It's always appeared then the next day, without explanation.
