Many thanks to those who wished luck...finally found a lovely little house, three bedrooms, flower gardens front and back, three blocks from the pacific ocean which roars during storms and deposits salt chrystals on my windshield.

Just got internet hook-up yesterday, cable, phone and all utilities up and running, rent and deposit took a chunk gonna have to do a book tour and sell some I think.

There is a thread...Roxanne's if i recall, that begs participation, but still nearly a hundred emails and gmails to catch up on.

Missed you guys, a pleasure to be back on line...and congrats to the 'Lurker' who took the Literotic nation state olympics last month, good going...looks like I am back in the running for this month...

Thanks for every kind wish....

welcome back, ami. :)

I've only been back a week and a half or so myself.

Hmm, you were both gone about the same times...

Let's start a rumor...

Wow! Can I move in with you? Actually, I like the mountains where I live just fine but congratulations! It sounds beautiful.

Then a belated 'welcome back' is headed your way my friend, thank you...

Ami!
Good to see you back again.

The Liberal has landed! :D

Congrats on the move. May your stay be eternal.

Ah, a righty to spar with! Should be fun. Not that I don't enjoy sparring with lefties, but that's been my most recent situation. :D Welcome back, ami...again.

Amicus,

Glad to hear things are settling down for you. Also glad to see you back with us. Congrats on the new digs. Now lets see some posts.

Amicus,

Welcome back. This old joint just wasn't the same without you under foot. Not worse, you understand. In fact, certain folks might say it was even a bit better. But there's no doubt it wasn't the same.

Bayou Bill

ah, McKenna, you make me salivate, sighs, male that I am...Seacat, a rather left handed welcome, but nonetheless...

However..furnishing a house, tending a neglected garden...and managing affairs with two wayward sons is preventing me from jousting in a normal fashion.

Thus...I will lurk for a spell and try to keep abreast..ahem...of things...

Until then....

I remain...

the resident bastard...

amicus with elipses...or whatever...

Welcome to the Pacific NW, Amicus!

I must warn you, though, that west of the Cascades you will be hard pressed to maintain a curmudgeonly attitude. :D

also, in view of the impending global warming disaster, you've chosen the best possible spot as long as the three blocks to the Pacific are uphill. ;) Here in Seattle, we reached 97 last week, but after a few hot days we're back to our usual June/September regimen of 80 high/60 low, sunny and low humidity. It's definitely high in the 'crunchy' factor (I moved here from Connecticutt), but it's very seductive to settle into the very casual live & let live attitude. It still has a distinct Libertarian bent, as does the West in general, but there's also a nearness to nature that gives one respect for preservation.

If you find yourself softening a bit, you wouldn't be the first, nor the last. :p

Thank you Huck and one and all for the warm welcome back...

However, the Left Coast has been my stomping grounds since the 1950's, high school over in Albany, married a girl from Lebanon, lived in Deer Island, Scappoose, Battleground and Amboy over the years and did ten years of a very right wing talk show in a very leftwing downtown Portland...so I am familiar with the climate and the peepes...it rather seems like 'coming home' again.

and when I walk the beaches and hike the mountains, when I see the human detritus, as I often do, I view it as indicating the presence of intelligent critters and not people pollution.

nice to be back and have the opportunity to debate with someone without throwing punches...

amicus...
