Thanks to Ish’s “War” thread, I finally figured out why we are in danger of losing the war against militant Islamic jihadists. It is the successful recruitment of American jihadists. Not American jihadists like Syed Farook. American jihadists like Literotica’s own: Ish, AJ and whatever alt BusyBody is using today.
Islamic militants have convinced our boys and much of the American political right that the literal, verbatim English translation of the Quran IS the theologically accurate and most faithful expression of the prophet’s original intent. ALL Muslim’s are instructed to kill all non-believers without mercy and in the most brutal fashion. They may readily lie about any aspect of their faith and/or lives to gain or maintain a strategic tyrannical advantage over the “enemy,” which, of course, are ALL non-Muslims. Muslims may not question any aspect of their teachings and because the words “say what they say” and “mean what they mean,” no figurative or alternative interpretation is possible. No Muslim can dispute the authority of this dogma, and none can resist its pull.
If any Muslim tells you differently, he or she is obviously lying because, well, they have been given that license, don’tcha see? It’s their duty.
That’s the fundamentalist Islamic nutbag line, and our boys have bought it lock, stock and scimitar. Hail, the American Jihadist. Allah, Akbar!!
And ISIS and Al Qaeda couldn’t be happier. In a world where the enemy of my enemy is my friend, the easiest way to make a friend – sometimes the only way if you’re having trouble – is to manipulate one’s enemy to make more enemies. Friendships then tend to spring from places you would least expect to find them.
It happened in World War II. Germany’s non-aggression pact with Russia was unlikely given long differences between the two nations. And while Russia was never a member of the German-Italian-Japanese axis, a quiet Eastern front was an enormous German advantage. And then Hitler goes and practically gives victory to the allies by forcing the most unlikely alliance of all – that of capitalism and communism.
An all-out war against Islam will literally force Muslims who have no desire to do so to take up arms against us. It is exactly what ISIS wants because there is no other way for it to realistically accomplish its global objective otherwise.
Of course, there is another side to this same coin that is even MORE absurd. The liberals’ fear of retaliating with devastating force against a savage enemy lest they be aided in “recruiting” is literally mind blowing. The idea that the majority of moderate Muslims are going to instantly transform into jihadist warriors against Western nations merely because those nations exercise the right to defend themselves is but another shade of the same illogic that tries to force all Muslims into the same fundamentalist pigeonhole by default.
Equally nonsensical is the contortionist attempt at neutral language that divorces Islamic fundamentalism from Islam itself. It’s not as if the rest of Islam is unaware of the theological hijacking that is taking place, but it does seem as if that the rest of America seems blind to the fact that moderate Muslims are themselves the primary target of this malignancy and, from their perspective, have as much if not more to lose (and far, far sooner) than most Westerners will ever come close to experiencing. The idea that moderate Muslims would be offended by the mere American awareness that the terrorist agenda of ISIS and Al Qaeda is something other than vaguely generic is both illogical and irrelevant – illogical for reasons previously mentioned and irrelevant because who gives a damn if they were? Winning a fight in self-defense is the whole point of the battle.
Pretending jihad isn't Islamic serves no good purpose. It only paints a picture that the apologist is a naive submissive ripe for the exploitation. Stop that.
Instead, let’s get on about the business we must do. Destroy only that which we must destroy and preserve all else. Kill only the enemy and leave these gullible saps at either political extreme to their own paranoia.
