New story title. 'Sexy Project Manager'. Or new competition?😬. Go ahead, let's add one more for shits and giggles

Dammit. C got me with my own joke. I was up until the very wee hours adding a small scene to my almost-done LW story, so I slept in. Woke up groggy... still am... and as I stumble around after pushing the button on the coffee pot, C tells me to check the mail. Okay, that's an everyday thing we ask of each other.

So I stumble across the living room, push the storm door ajar, and reach into the box. Empty. I turn around and announce, "No mail." She's grinning at me. "Well?" she chuckles. And what is she grinning at me about?

Fuck. It's Columbus Day. No mail service. I do the same thing to her all the time - even on Sundays because day of week is mostly irrelevant to us retired folk. That's what pill minders are for. "Not fair!" I protest. "Who remembers Columbus Day?" She just continues to chuckle. "Gotcha!"

...sigh...

The two cups of coffee on my desk because I forgot I poured the first one remind me that I'm still fuckin' groggy!

Hope y'all have a better day than I am, so far.

I pried a plot bunny off my table leg and posted what the bunny came up with
"Talking rabbit that generates plot ideas" seemed to ease its way right into my mind, it's the "why is a bunny clinging to a table leg" part that I keep spin cycling over.

Like ... was it hungry? Scared? Trying to sleep while leaning against it? Or was it something more sinister, because now that I think about it a talking bunny might be up to something?

For those who are wondering where the coffee is, I was getting some blood work done this morning in preparation to seeing my nephrologist this afternoon.

I've got a fresh pot of coffee going and the teapot is hot. There are donuts and bagels on the counter. I shagged all of the plot bunnies down into the basement so the dragon can thin the herd.

I'll be over in the counter trying to finish up a difficult scene where treachery is being plotted and implied without it being directly said ...
if you need help plotting treachery, just ask Duleigh's plot bunnies.

I kinda assumed it was humping the table leg.

We’ve all done that on spin cycle

It's a PLOT BUNNY - they're very rude, they gnaw on the furniture, they tear up the upholstery, they eat the cat's food. They're just trying to get my attention because they have all these stupid ideas they want me to write. Each bunny has an idea how the plot of my story should go. If that isn't enough, my muse joins in with them - together they distract me from the mission (write a great story) and try to get me to write THEIR story.

They're not all bad, it's worse when they're not around and I have no direction, no plot, no story idea. I look at my keyboard wondering "What's next?"

I'm thinking the idea on that thread could be an event.

Lots of different modes of travel where people are together in a more or less confined space for long durations.

It could be played with many ways. There are a number of different concepts in that one thread. Different possible encounters based on a simple premise.

I think it'sa good idea to start rotating and replacing with new themes for events rather than running them year after year - run them too long and they can get stale
I agree - I was thinking one event, or maybe two events about 6 months apart, and rotate ideas through them every year. NBC used to do that with TV shows. Shows like McMillan & Wife, and McCloud, and Columbo would share the time slot and be on every 3 or 4 weeks. The Amorous Goods event was fun; my initial thought was to bring back something like that but not tied to a TV show. I was thinking of a Magic McGuffin event. Someone obtains a magic item by hook or by crook and it can do XYZ to a potential lover, a neighbors spouse, your sister. The McGuffin can make sexual dreams come true or kick off a sexual nightmare. Then next year a different event takes over. the year after that, the McGuffin returns, or maybe there's 4 events in the lineup.

Sometimes life brings you unbelievable plot bunnies.

My girlfriend managed to visit. On new medication which has to be taken in the morning, but then has to remain sitting upright for an hour, while she's not allowed to eat or drink. As she put it, "I sit there for an hour in bed, and sulk."

Anyway, today she didn't sulk. I possibly shouldn't have over-exerted myself, but some things just have to be done, especially when you know you may never get the chance again.

... and to steal a few carrots for the plot bunnies
Gotta keep them fed or they might wander off somewhere.

I put on a pot of Folgers (Yes, I have a "Lootrin" background, Garrison Keillor was right about the Folgers) and a pot of Red Rose for Tarnished Penny.
