The AH Coffee Shop and Reading Room 09

This morning is a good step forward for me. My head is clear. I don't feel exhausted. It's still uncomfortable to swallow but getting easier. And I don't seemed to have lost any more weight yesterday, which is definitely good. We'll see how I hold up to teaching in person today. I am looking forward to it.

I've gotten about 1.2K written on my WIP this morning, easily the biggest burst since I got sick. All character building, but it went well. This is my first story that may be marginal in erotic content for the site, even by my relatively loose standards of that. My understanding is that SF&F readers are pretty tolerant of that. I guess I will find out. It does have tentacles, but definitely not tentacle porn.

After raining for several days, it's looking beautiful today.
 
Spouse did one of his online snack orders. Both he and offspring must have been ravenous, as there's a good 10kg of nuts, huge pile of cocoa bars, probably another 6kg of raisins and dried fruit, and then all the jars of weird hippy food.

This morning was spent trying to put contents of a 3x4 foot box somewhere that wasn't the dining table. Did some other tidying, too - I wasn't physically able but SIL asked me where stuff could go and the bins are now full again (it was rubbish collection yesterday). Delayed spring cleaning... (it's spring in Australia, right?)
 
It must be Halloween season because I beta read a Halloween story this morning. To celebrate the season, I'm making my coffee with waters from the River Styx and danish with Forbidden Fruit.

I've been kicking around a (not Halloween) story idea about a girl who gets catfished, and so she has to decide whether it was the body she saw in the dating profile or the mind behind the messages she got that she's really attracted to.
 
I know I talk about pastries a lot, but nuts with raisins and dried fruit is a gold medal contender in the Snack Olympics.
I have just filled a jar with black raisins and golden sultanas and topped it up with rum. There's nothing more disappointing than non-alcoholic rum'n raisin ice-cream made with 'rum flavouring'. I'm wondering what the minimum maturing time is...

I'll just have the nuts - I'm not crazy about dried fruit generally. Fresh, yes.

Try and leave it for a week, and resist the urge to take the occasional spoonful for "testing".
 
I'm happy. Today, I was able to eat my first two real meals in most of a week. And I got some writing done on WIP, with more time today to maybe write some more. And three different people gave me three different perspectives on my WIP over the last few days.
