The AH Coffee Shop and Reading Room 09

If that coffee is for everyone, I’ll take a cup 😉

My new Bentyl increase has me all messed up, why not add caffeine to mess things up even more 🤷🏼‍♀️

I’ll be in the other corner, you know my back to the wall a 270degree view of the room while writing in hopes it doesn’t end up in pending purgatory
the gunfighter seat?
are you well armed?

We're supposed to go a tad above freezing today, for the first time in a week. Still slightly below normal temps for this time of year for us. But the weekend and next week are back to actual cold again. :(

Off on my own, trying to get back to serious progress on my Pink Orchid novel.

Weather here is 9 in the taxpayer-funded healthcare units, definitely on the warm side for mid-December. I'm about 5k into my Valentine's Day story and although I roughly know how it should end, I'm still not sure how I will spin the emotional impact of said ending.

That's okay, though. I have my pants on, so everything will be fine :)

@Kumquatqueen posted this in the memes thread. I started to reply there then decided my reply was too far off the rails.

People can afford cigarettes and Coke???

There's a reason nativity plays are still popular - costumes are a teatowel per human, a piece of tinsel per angel, and a paper headband per animal.

My town has used the same nativity scene outside for over 80 years. The case has been repaired a couple times.

Here we have a version of Las Posadas. The parish across the river from us celebrates Las Posadas de Barelas, and has for many years. It's nearly free.

A young couple performs the role of Mary and Joseph searching Bethlehem for a place to stay. They go from house to house in the parish and are turned down each time, but then the households brings lights and join the procession until it stops at the community center and a party ensues.

They do it in one night instead of the longer tradition in Spain and Mexico. It's one of the cooler holiday traditions I know of. I even wrote about it once in my pre-Literotica days. Erotic versions aren't that big of a stretch.

Morning, I've finished all my contract writing for the week, so now I can write for myself. Having a caramel coffee with a hint of English Toffee, pull up a chair and take a load off, let's chit-chat about things of no importance, or great weight in the world, and drain the French press. I've got plenty of beans to brew more, and plan to do nothing for thirty minutes, then back to the keyboard.

😉 always would you like to know where all three, or four are 😉
It's much calmer over here at the card table by the far wall, because of the stuff that's still dripping from the ceiling. I was able to get an analysis done (I wore two sets of lead-lined rubber gloves to get the stuff into the sampler) and the peaks showed things that aren't on the Chart of the Nuclides. Yet. I may get one of them named after me, if I publish the paper fast enough.

As for what's under the tree, I misread the memo. Instead of Secret Santa, I thought we were doing Kinky Krampus. So you might not want to open anything with your name on it.

For about two months I've been flailing away at an interaction of two characters (can't really call it a story). Yesterday I thought up something that at least affects the characters, although it's not clear if that makes this mess into a story. Like pretty much everything I write, it depends heavily on a high concept. I keep forgetting that this isn't a suitable substitute for a plot.

Thanks, haven't got shit figured out, and it doesn't look like it did on my friend's computer when she showed me this.
Feel free to ask if you have anything specific you're confused about. There are also some FAQs both at the top of the forum and here.

The site has done some redesign lately - looks different now than when I joined - so that's probably why.

Well, theirs had more blue and didn't have the stuff at the top like my control panel does. I think I have a basic idea of the place. I was glad my daddy-daughter story went through on the first try.
Welcome RRRyan. Write away!
Thanks.

One question how long does it take for the little pic and the banner on my profile page to get approved?

@RRRyan oh and also heads up: The first X comments you make on stories with your account have to wait for approval too. This includes commenting on your own stories.

I have no idea what number X is, I haven't hit it yet, and people seem to have experienced anything between 10 and 100.
