The AH Coffee Shop and Reading Room 09

Okay, got a big problem here. This was the first time I thought of one of my stories as a plot bunny. I got to the end of the first draft about 5 minutes ago.

What happens to the bunny?

I feel like I may not have prepared myself, emotionally, for this.

Is this something that you made?
Yeah. Most of the work was done two years ago. Now it's an integrated suite of programs that started as a basic interactive Sudoku board, but now creates original puzzles to the user's specifications, solves puzzles, and presents puzzles for publication. It even downloads the New York Times puzzles and presents them. There's also a tool for building puzzles manually, but I may get rid of that.

There might still be a glitch in solving and creating puzzles that use the "Swordfish" technique. I'm not sure it's real, or whether that feature is just very rare. There are other advanced techniques I could build in. Very few people could solve those puzzles, but I might do it to amuse myself.

Jacklyn Zeman

Before beginning her 45-year stint on General Hospital, a role that earned her four Emmy nominations, worked as a a Playboy Bunny at the Playboy Club in 1972.

Not Oscars and only nominations, but still.

I know there were others, but their stories are kind of hard to find.

Most articles talk about Playmates, not Bunnies.

Sigh. I've been sitting here perusing this and other threads, and my keyboard was going off into Never-Never Land, repeating keys and doing strange things with the cursor inside text. And I just replaced this keyboard with brand new for the same symptoms. I'm a supposed computer expert (ex = unknown or former, spurt = drip under pressure) and it was WTF???

On a whim I power cycled the mouse. Fixed it for a few seconds, and the problem came back. The mouse? Tried a new battery. Crap. As you can read, I'm back.

Why would a mouse going bananas fuck with keyboard shit? ...sigh, again... Goddamn Bluetooth. 😞

I can't find a reason why that happened but I did find that if the battery on your keyboard is low, it will screw up the mouse inputs. The keyboard and mouse appear to be still tied together like they were in the PS/2 serial port days

C and I were watching the tail end of PBS News Hour in anticipation of the next program, Nature. Tonight's topic was wildlife in Transylvania.

When the program started, the content notification in the upper left indicated "14" (recommended minimum age) and "S", for sexual content. I was amused, explaining to her that this arcane notification system would have "L" for possibly offensive language, and "V" would be for violence. So, I told her, it's a nature show with 'S', so it had to be showing or strongly implying animal sex somewhere in the presentation.

The second set of scenes was about bears emerging from hibernation looking for food... and mates. After the obligatory fight scene between competing males, segue to a male courting females. After some firm rejections, one they were following finds a receptive mate.

"Hey, look, dear! It may not be naked sex, but it is bear sex."

Fortunately all the sofa pillows were on my end.

Did I break Lit some more? I went to My Home and there's nothing there

It was full of stuff yesterday. The stories, poems, and series are there, even the two stories sitting in pending for 28 days are still there, but actvities are gone.

The old content was archived. They're trying to speed up the Activities page. I suppose new content will appear when it happens.

There are a couple threads out there on the subject.

Thursday! It's off to work I go... The K index today is 1 which means that the Earths magnetic field is calm so there is minimal Geomagnetic activity but the A index is 012 which is unsettled (The A index provides a more comprehensive view of geomagneting activity by averaging the K-index values over a 24 hour period) and the SFI index is 162 which is OUTSTANDING (The Solar Flux Index is the amount of radio noise or flux emitted at a frequency of 2800 MHz)

What does all this mean?

I means when I go to work and turn on the county's high frequency radio I can enjoy some long range (DX) shortwave radio listening! Last week I picked up Radio New Zealand. Radio Australia has been shut down but I'm hoping to hear Bay Islands, or 4KZ from Queensland or Shortwave Australia

I was doing some research for one of the story events next year and I came across this historical woman named Chini Hwang. She was a Korean geisha, very beautiful and had a legendary intellect. When the elite ruling class men of the country came by to spend time with her, she'd ask them a riddle and would only hang out with them if they could solve it.

There was a Confucian scholar known for his virtue, and she seduced him and wrote a poem about it. This was apparently the 16th century Korean version of a sex tape.

The place where she lived is now right on the DMZ, so the fact that this lady was megacool is the one of the few things that North and South Korea agree on.

Another beautiful sunny but cool morning and another beautiful day to walk in the park. The garden cleanup is going slowly but at least I feel up to doing it.

There's a fresh pot of coffee brewing and the teapot is whistling. Looks like the cornbread is all gone so I put out some donuts and cookies to snack on. Unfortunately, there's no pot here for the plot bunnies to eat so they're scrounging around for carrots.

I'll be over in the corner working on my story. I'm at the point that I'm close enough to the ending that I can see how it ends so, of course, I'm struggling to finish it (like writing out the solution to a math problem that you already figured out the answer to but if you don't show your work you won't get full credit).

I know that feeling! It makes you want to dash to the end. I have the final two or three chapters plotted out for stormwatch and I really love how it's going to end... but that's maybe 180k words away before I can enter into the conclusion. I have far too much planned for my characters before that point.
