Tea will be after dinner. After dessert actually. Just threw an almond sponge cake in to pair with some blueberries and whipped cream.

Almond sponge cake?

Did I hear somebody say, "almond sponge cake?"

I have company coming. If I grovelled nicely, might I ask for the recipe, please?

Pleeeease? :eek::eek::eek:

I made it! Surgeon said the knee was really bad but surgery went well. I came home on Thursday as he predicted. A friend stayed with me until this morning. Now I'm on my own (with the surgeon's approval). Enjoy your day!

Uh, huh, slipped this one in on me when I wasn't looking.

Congrats of the surgery and leave the organizing and cleaning until after you heal. You can do it. Okay, okay, I hear the grinding of teeth all the way do here.

I'm glad everything turned out well. About time as they say. :rose::kiss:

Isn't modern surgery just amazing? They cut on Tuesday, have you walking around the halls on Wednesday and send you home Thursday. It's really hard to believe but it works.

That's wonderful Lynn :rose:

Medical technology and techniques just keep on improving. Something that was totally risky 20 years ago is standard today, and things that would've laid you up for weeks - you're back in action in days. Makes you wonder where we'll be in another 20 years.

Thanks, everyone. When I woke up the day after surgery, I didn't think I could do it. Getting the pain under control made all the difference. I can't say I would do the other one ever, but I'm glad this one is done.

Excellent! Escaping surgery alive and kicking is always good. To recovery!

My favorite dentist believed in "aggressive pain management" which meant more nitrous oxide. Pain is never helpful. :rose:

I think I'm on the same page with bear. Time to close the story file, fix a fresh pot of coffee for the morning crew, and hit the sack.

Laters to one and all.

I hope you filled the coffee tanks, Tex. After writing maniacally all weekend and getting my 3rd Valentines Day story in and up, what with work and all, I need waaaaay more than a pot..... :D

Got that erotic SF novella to get underway now as well as finishing off "Mistaken Identity." That's February taken care of.

So coffee? Fill 'er up! (Not espresso though.I'll leave that to PuckIt. I'm wired enough already...)

Good for you, Madam. :rose:

'rarely' rather than 'never', but I guess you are right.

I want one !!

Good morning, all.

Black, please, Tex.

Another - another - six $&%]{>€!!! Inches of snow last night. And that poor coyote, frozen to a tree...

Moanday, Moanday, good old Bitch and Moanday.

A new week always brings new problems. Like where am I going to park those coffee trucks. What kind of hose do you use to... uh... access the coffee?

When someone around here bitches about six inches or more, I never has anything to do with snow. Now, rain, that's a whole other problem. sixty inches of rain in five days. Five feet in five days. Now there twelve inches to bitch about.

Okay, fresh coffee. Help your self and have a good day if you can.

Ah, Monday; yes. Listen. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h81Ojd3d2rY

And, thanks to the aid of the coffee, it was!

Oh, thanks so much for that link, Handley_Page! I had completely forgotten The Mamas & The Papas. A nice brightener for my own Monday.

:)

Sixty inches of rain in five days? Yikes, good thing you have boats.

Yes, Hurricane Harvey and yes, we had lots of boats from all over.

HP, the kettle is on the back burner of the hot plate.

BBQ chicken, rice and ranch beans for supper.

Fresh coffee on for the evening crew and a fresh kettle.

I'll even use the red kettle so HP can find it easier.

The Mamas and the Papas: so much talent in such screwed up people. RIP, y'all.

And did you see this awesome commercial for Dodge? I was hoping that Budweiser would steal the show (again) but this is a hoot!

Saw it. Loved it. Liked the game too.

A game where NE gets face-planted at the end (instead of the other way around) is a great thing for me.

Sex, drugs, rock-n-roll, ay yi yi. Michelle Phillips still lives. The rest are gone. In my last year at one of several high schools, my voice coach predicted Mamas & Papas would be the future of folk music. Well, that didn't quite work out, but they sounded good.

No, Cass didn't choke on a chicken nugget.

I just got a robo-call reminding me to have my eyeball burnt by a medical laser tomorrow. Those in-office zaps hurt. I'm cleared to self-medicate with hydrocodone first. Will it work better if buffered with a quadruple espresso?

My five-string banjo is calling me to play California Dreaming. Should I pick Scruggs-style or clawhammer?

Oh, Scruggs by all means.

At least the M&P played music. Don't get me started on the current "perversions in the name of".

Remember Zappa's "200 Motels?"

EDIT: My bad. I was thinking of "The Turtles" Flo and Eddie, not the M&P. They did a stint with the second coming of "The Mothers of Invention."

Still, good memories. I don't think I was competent to watch a movie when I saw it. What, was Ringo Starr really chasing a nun through the orchestra (London Symphony, if I remember right) while trying to goose her with an oil lamp of some sort?
