The AH Coffee Shop and Reading Room 02: A Comma (is a Restful Pause)

My commute is such a hassle. From the bed, twenty steps to the coffee maker. Turn that on. Another twenty steps to the bathroom on the way to the office. That's another fifteen steps. The agony of trekking to the kitchen to pour that first cup of coffee. :D

Retirement does have rewards.

I'm feeling for you as I look at the weather forecast for this weekend. Snow.

Ugh, this cold came back around and knocked me upside the head,. No rest for the wicked though.

One good thing, it's so much easier to accrue rejections from literary agents these days.

Morphing into yesterday I think. Have some more coffee.

That is one of the problems. I ran out of coffee two hours ago.

It's the time change thing still messing with my sense of time.

Okay, a fresh pot of coffee for the evening crowd.

Just the job.
All I have to do now is work out how to do my e-mail in Windows 7 or 10.:(

Ye gods. . . .

Morning all

Fresh coffee is now available.

HP, Gmail is the best way to go with any operating system. Totally separate.

I have Gmail account.
That said, I do not like the idea of my mail being 'on someone's wall', so to speak.
I'd rather have my e-mail delivered into my PC. {I was raised in the arms of MS Outlook}

I'm retired. Every night is Friday night and every day is Saturday. So why do I still crave coffee to get through the day?

Ummm... addiction to caffeine? :D

Talking of coffee; can I get a cup of tea, please ?
It's late and the caffeine will not do me well for sleep, I think.

Well, I have taken delivery of my new PC box.
I'll try and install it this weekend.
Gotta do some serious back-ups first !

Toodle-pip

Ch 4 returned because Lit won't handle footnotes at the bottom of the page. Laurel says put them at the end of the paragraph and italicize them. So I did. Let's see if this works.

Don't like snow. Rather fond of rain but snow? All I want to do is hibernate.

There was snow at the edge of the city as I head into work today. The sun was shining and I wanted to get a picture so badly to share with friends because it was just gorgeous. Alas, I was driving.

I'm wanting to hibernate, but that's more the sore throat and fever. Sigh. Not getting much writing done in this state.

It's too beautiful here. It should be cooler. But what can I complain about?

When I drive home in the evening there's a point where I have a view northwest along the river. The water reflects the blue sky, and the yellow cottonwoods along the river frame the little volcanoes at the city's edge. Yesterday, in the evening with the sun casting long shadows, a hot air balloon colored in orange and red floated through that scene.

We don't usually see balloons up in the afternoon. It was kinda pretty.

Morning all,

Low 40's here this morning. 70 is the predicted afternoon high. bright sun, so a beautiful day. I'll need to heat the shop today so the epoxy will dry right. I should have both boats finished, on the trailers, and rigged by this weekend.

Fresh coffee for those in need. I even picked up several dozen donuts this morning so help yourself.

Wow! a real doughnut ! Thanks!
With something like 67GB of photos on a suspect hard drive, backing up is taking a while.
Lots of coffee will be needed, I fear.

One fresh pot of coffee coming up.

Just after I retired I spent a week or so putting twenty five years worth of photos on a series of DVD's. It sure cleaned up the hard drives on my computer and made everything easier to find in the long run.

Fiberglass done on both boats and one has it's first coat of epoxy on the outside. The second coat will go on in about a half hour from now. I'll do the second hull tomorrow.

Does the Epoxy layer go on 'scraped', [like spreadng butter on the bread], or is it poured on ?
The only reason I'm having this trouble is because I didn't put the photos on a DVD early enough.

So, if you don't mind, I'll make a cup of tea.
Anyone like one while I'm here ?

We had a dusting of snow this morning. Bitter cold temps with the high not even reaching freezing. The "feels like" temperature this evening is 15.

Much of the family (not me) is heading to Chicago next week. Our daughter in Chicagoland texted a screenshot of her weather report to warm everyone. It was 25 when she left work. She scurried to her car.

At the same time last year it was balmy.

Our weather crosses the lake from there so whatever they have, we get.

The older I get, the less I like our winters. I get why half the senior population heads to FL or AZ.

I've been struggling to put two paragraphs together in a day for 'Yellow Mountain,' so this morning I decided to wing it with a story that's been brewing for a couple days. I got 3400 words in before I decided to call it a day.

At that rate I could even write a story for the holiday contest.
