That's remarkably close!

Claudia was on a smaller plane and she isn't a fashion plate, so she was wearing shorts. But then, she's very appealing in shorts.

Oh, and she ain't blond. She's has long, beautiful black hair that she usually keeps in a pony tail.

I have a pair specifically for use with my PC. The optician was not too happy with the specifications ( focus at 40 inches !). But she did it and my new pair are OK.
I'll get new specs in a few months after my eyes settle down from their surgeries.

The lens is f3.5, and it is Sharp. (I like Sigma lenses). It's not huge, either.
I've a few Sigmas (like the 170-500/5) but my workhorse is still the original Pentax/Tamron DA18-250/3.5 on my K20D. I have hundreds of lenses but that superzoom, the K50/1.2, the DA10-18/3.5 fisheye, and a modded Nikkor 85/2 keep me in busy.

What is great here: the Kiron 24/2; Komine Close-Focus 28/2 (FUCKING SHARP!); modded Nikkor 35/2; Tomioka 55/1.4; the Schneider Betavaron 50-125/5 enlarger zoom (DEADLY SHARP!). And a bunch of Ennas, Meyers, modded Zuikos, Zeiss, Takumars, and Steinheils. Glass is fun.

THIS is the one I have.

Have you looked at the old 50mm f2 helios lens (praktica, and others, M42 thread).
It's damned good bit of glass.

But now - Coffee.

I have a collection of Zenith cameras, M42 thread, and lenses ranging from 20mm to 500mm with zooms from 35-90 and 80-240.

My best lens is on my Photosniper:

I used to have a Zenith (very solid) and I still have its replacement; a Praktika MTL5.

It's a great pity that such a 'photosniper' thing is no longer available or even viable for today's DSLR.
[I must have a think about making something I'd welcome the chance with my 500mm lens. . . ].

People have done it:

I'm leaving my photosniper as it is. I had two but I gave one to my nephew who used to be a council planning officer. He could take clear pictures of planning infractions without getting too close and being spotted by the landowner.

Back to coffee, please.

Ah, busy day today, running a write-in. Hoping I can finish a novel I've been writing, or at least get close.

I've been re-reading what I've already written and . . . there's a lot of sex in there!

I may have to edit.

Have a wonderful day, folks. :rose:

morning all,

Fresh coffee is ready. It's been slow around the AH this week. Must be summer or something.

Got some things to do today. Mostly running errands.

I've been lazy this morning. I was up early and it was beautiful outside so I went for a run, did the shopping bright and early, and now I have all the windows open, I'm sitting in the shade drinking coffee and about to finish off a lovely little short story set in Chungking in 1947 - two chinese sisters, a microscope and a helpful American Army officer whose willing to assist the girls with their biology studies... in a way that the good Mission School teachers haven't anticipated. "Under the Microscope."

Poor Sammi Woo is on hold yet again.

I prefer Chianti with pizza but any stout red will do.

Cranked out my morning five miles and will now spend the rest of the day inside the AC. The prediction is for triple digits the middle of next week. Bleagh!

I keep a pair of computer glasses next to the monitor . . . except when I get distracted/forgetful and wonder off wearing them.

Ah yes, the pee, uh, P word. Water sports or politics, about the same thing.

Errands ran, now to relax and see what i can get written. Two more chapters and the third book will be done. The first half is edited but I think I'll need to rewrite part of that. Things changed slightly in the second half.

I own (or they own me) 50 lenses in the 50-58mm range and a few more in the high 40s and low 60s, mostly M42s. Yes, they include the brilliant Helios-44 58/2, the pretty wretched Meyer Domiplan 50/2.8, and the impeccable Macro-Takumar 50/4. But I especially like the Meyers and Ennas between 35-90mm which give a nice 1950s Kodachrome flavor to images. I blame the coatings.

You know, that never occurred to me.

Settled on a Mooiplaas Pinotage from South Africa. Stuck my hand in the wine cellar unit and that was what popped out and it looked good, so it was Pinotage and home made pizza for lunch. Went for a swim and now it's sitting in the shade sipping wine and writing away for the rest of the day.

I spent most of the day at an auction. It's amazing what some people pay for items I think are worthless. :)

Good for you! Beauty is truly in the eyes of the beholder.

Hope you and yours are well.

Back before total unemployment er I mean retirement we attended numerous auctions of Native American arts and crafts aka Injun Stuff. Each auction was unique.

Sometimes rug buyers were absent and we could grab superb Navajo and Zapotec weavings for a pittance; and sometime they were unattainable. Sometimes the potheads (pottery lovers) were out in force and we couldn't win pot one. Other times they didn't show up, the auctioneer's crew had broken a couple of ollas, and he wanted the rest GONE -- so the survivors went for a few bucks each, sold on the first bid.

We like focused auctions where the trash is obvious. [/me glances at at the turquoise-encrusted cattle skull hanging on the wall]
