Aaaahhhhh, Monday morning. A new week, up early, starting work early this week and it's beautiful outside. Nice and fresh, with that damp smell from yesterday's rain. I love breathing that in - rain and trees smell wonderful. Add coffee coz I just started it and it's just perfect.

Rest I'm getting plenty off. I'm being fed well in all sorts of ways. I'm even getting a little writing done. I've had to build a few hundred new plot bunny cages. One naked lady running around the house is good, two doing the same is outstanding. They were playing hide and seek earlier or so they said. I think it was just a reason for them to crawl under my desk while I was writing.

They both make great coffee.

Meanwhile, heat remains around here. I can stay put for now, but starting Wednesday, I have three days (four hours on the road each day) of drives to and from greater Sacratomato to see doctors who can cut me up. Or down. Retinologists, cardiologists, specialists you don't want to know about. (Leave my pituitary alone!) Some will get to slice me in upcoming weeks. Should I take a 'ukulele along?

We socialized with neighbors yesterday, getting caught-up on local events whilst we were gone for a few months. News: Bears big and little wandered our yard. (He have the shit to prove it.) Lunatics barked at dogs at sunrise. The county wants to cut down our dirt road's tree tunnel (sigh) but will also force another neighbor to remove road obstructions because fire engines. The new cell tower isn't up yet so there's still no service. Ah, mountain life...

Well, I'm up too early and I need to get back to sleep before I get up way to early all over again but I just had to finish the story I was working on. So I just did and I submitted "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow" to Lit. As far as my stories go, it's a short one. 8600 words and I'm not sure that Noir will like it coz it starts off all lovey-dovey. Started it on Friday and finished it tonight and I love it. And now, sleep and then work and on to the whatever I should work on next.

So much for wondering about whether I'll have to try to cut the grass where I'm cat sitting before I leave. I woke to the sound of the landscapers cutting the grass--and putting in more trees. I've moved on to trying to reach a drinkable balance in how much Tim Horton I put in the coffee maker.

I'd never been to Port Townsend and the GF likes it a lot so she was showing me the town. Lovely place with a lively cultural scene, gorgeous scenery and great boating. Might be a good place to invest a little cash.

Washington state is one more delightful part of the Pacific Northwest.

Guess what ? It were shut !
That's the second time this year it's been closed, and it's not too easy to find in rural Salopia.

Congrats on finishing the story. My one question is why are you worried that JBJ will like it? He tries to be a writing guru but he fails most of the time. He is a hack writer of the worse kind. He thinks he knows what he's doing and tries to lead others down his crooked path. You're already so far above him that it's funny.

I'm trying to get into a redundant church in rural Kent. It is supposed to be open to the public twice a month but the last information I can find is dated 2012. I bought a 19th Century poster advertising sale of the 'perpetual advowson' - the right to appoint the resident clergyman, so I want to see the church it refers to. It is architecturally interesting as the only complete church built by a known Victorian architect...

But when is it open? Getting there is awkward. The closest I can park is two miles away, then down a footpath and crossing an accommodation bridge over a motorway. That is a long way for an ancient Og, and my wife won't cross that narrow bridge.

I'll need coffee before and after that trip.

Og. A perhaps unusual way to find the exact location of Churches is to Google "Dove's guide to the Church Bells of Great Britain." The Guide is available free on line and now contains an exact OS reference number for all of the 4000 or so churches with bells in UK.

In the old days churches were often the centre of footpath networks and the OS maps those well, so there may be alternative points of access.

If however, your church has no bells, my suggestion is entirely useless and you'll have to search for your 'encaustic' tiles somehow else.
