A big story on the evening news. A new study of 200,000 people over the last 20 years has concluded that one cup of coffee can increase your life and health by 12%. Three cups can increase things by 18%. A pot a day should make you bullet proof. :D
Crap. Not a coffee drinker. I'm done for. :(

And for me.

HP? I've sent you an email about screws...
Stand by for a reply, please.

A version of the story about coffee being beneficial was in today's paper.
The percentages weren't quite as "involved", though.

Afternooner all,

Please don't pay the ransom, I'm not planning on escaping. :D

It's never to late. Increase the dosage to catch up and it'll average out overall.

The dosage would be equivalent to many multiples of gallons, seeing as I've never had even one entire cup of coffee. No, I'll just have try to figure out another way to mimic the benefits.

A trip to the beach perhaps...

It seems coffee beans have large amounts of antioxidants.

A trip to the beach, especially a nude one, is always a good thing. :)

Coffee-related tidbits:

* Most coffee-growing folks around the world are impoverished near-slaves unable to afford to purchase and consume their product, so they don't live very long, right?

* In my travels in rural Mexico and Central America I found Nescafe and other coffee fast powders common and fresh-brewed coffee rare. Does instant crap help longevity?

* I survived today's eye surgery. I just sucked-up motel coffee; it's nearly midnight now; yes, I must be up early tomorrow. Fortunately it was decaf. Does that count?

Congrats on the survival. I knew you could do it. ;)

Since it is the coffee beans that are the good thing, decaf works as well as caffeinated. The instant stuff, i have no idea. Is there coffee bean in it or is it fake all the way through? The only instant i ever used was Kava. It was brewed coffee that had been freeze dried so it had beans in it.

Instant coffee (particularly Nescafe) had damned well better work. I've drunk enough of it to float the USS Nimitz.

Well done.
Is it as painless as they report ?

Glad the surgery went well. :)

I have an update myself, and a decent one I think. I got the results of my MRI and they are pretty good. Left breast is normal, so yay, surgery will be on only one side. On the other side, it does not seem like the invasive cells have spread, although they won't know for sure until after the surgery. I'm keeping my fingers crossed on that, to keep post-surgery follow up to a minimum.

:rose:All good thoughts.

Great news. :rose::kiss:

This is now. The other one goes in a few weeks. Thus I have a nice window for "huh?" excuses. "Oh sorry, I didn't see that [whatever]."

Real Kava contains no coffee not caffeine. No, it's much, much stronger, weirder, hallucinogenic in proper doses. Gives kick-ass cottonmouth. If kava is legal, meth should be, too.

Somehow I've never been able to consider instante as coffee, even though I've combined and consumed many powders over the decades. Cheap spirits help mask the awfulness. I've drunk enough to SINK the Nimitz. Anchors aweigh...

Glad the surgery went well. :)
Thanks much. The doctors are confident. And they get to do the other eye in a few weeks. Maybe I'll be able to ditch the white cane after that.

My partner was most happy for post-surgery followups. They reveal no cancer recurrence (so far). Surgery is best avoided unless absolutely fucking necessary. But if ya gotta have it, ya want full fucking disclosure afterwards. We want the labs to keep saying, "You're OK now."

A great bonus: We live a couple of hours out of Sacramento. Driving to and back is a pain, but the state capitol supports some superstar medics. My and my partner's surgeons have reputations as wizards, absolute masters (and mistresses) of their disciplines. We're happy our crises didn't occur whilst we were stuck in hinterlands.

More coffee needed.

Yesterday was visit to the dentist for a filling and preparation for a root extraction next week. I don't enjoy visits to the dentist.

Later I went to my physiotherapist for routine treatment. He complained that he is no longer just treating my initial condition (I've lived with it for 35 years) but also the effects of ageing. It's all downhill from now on...

Today? Telephone landline is down after heavy rain and strong wind last night. It happens in those weather conditions. At least this time I've still got weak and fluky broadband. Estimated time to fix? 3 days.

Where's that coffee? I need it strong. Next week after the extraction I'll have to have weak coffee for the first couple of hours.

Morning sex might be more effective for women. For ancient men like me -

We go back to sleep afterwards.

You just lie back and smile while someone else does all the work. With a camelbak you could sip on your coffee at the same time. Sleeping afterwards? Nothing better:D - you can always see if the second go round wakes you up - just keep repeating until the desired result is achieved!

If ya do it right, then you both go back to sleep. In my case, I'm getting ganged up on this week. So far I've kept things even but this morning, I fell back asleep and awoke to them gone shopping. So maybe shopping is more comparable to coffee.

It don't matter, I'm having coffee anyway. I'll even make a fresh pot for the late risers like me.
