What a useful mug, Chloe.
As predicted, the temperature is falling.
Fortunately, the wind is pretty quiet [so far] so it's not too bad.
I discovered this morning that my electric buggy was not charged following a problem with the plug. I think a visit to the store is indicated. . . .

More coffee is in the pot; fresh-brewed, as well.

Evening all,

I spent most of the day straightening up the shop and working in the yard. Freezing temps brought down the rest of the leaves and a few dead limbs and such. Tomorrow will be a good day to mulch the leaves and mow the remaining grass.

I have lumber ordered for a half dozen jon boat planters and trailers. Something to fool with while we wait for spring. I've also order the materials for a new 10 foot boat for myself. The 8 footer I'm using now is good but a little small for two people. Anyway, I have a few new ideas I want to try out. If they work, I'll end up with a lighter boat that is just as strong as the old design.

Okay, fresh coffee for the night crew.

But now we are headed into cold weather, And according to the forecast, it'll get worse.

Whilst you guys up over chill out, the maximum temperature in Sydney today was 47.3 Celsius (117F.) - warmest day here since 1939. It was better where we are on the coast 43+.

Fortunately, although there were some big bush fires they were mainly in rural areas, no human fatalities but stock losses and a few houses.

Instead huge numbers went to the beach and to various rivers . Result an unusual spate of drownings, but overall the fire losses could have been much worse with stronger winds.

Good grief; the temperature has risen to +4C. This after a Very Cold Night, you'll understand.
I think I might go out with my camera; the sun is very bright !

Meanwhile coffee !

I don't think we're that warm yet.

OJ and peach seltzer til I can have coffee, AND . . . a HORSERADISH cheddar omelet. :D

We actually have some humidity! I noticed contrails yesterday evening when I was outside enjoying my chiminea. The norm lately has been for them to fade within seconds. The humidity went from single digits on Friday to 40% or so today, but the sky is still blue, blue, blue and the temp is about freezing.

I think we made it to +5C.
But, curiously enough, it does not 'feel' quite that cold outside at the moment.

Cold enough to need a hot drink, though.

Yard mulched and cut. Shop clean. Materials picked up from the lumber yard, sorted and stacked in the shop.

Beef stew for supper.

Now it is time to relax. I have an idea for a couple of Valentines Day stories but all of them will be long. I have a couple I started last year. Maybe I can get one of those finished.

Coffee for the evening crew.

The chemtrails have not taken effect yet. I hope. Anyway, we've had a bit of moisture here in the mountains. The deer in our meadow are getting frisky. One young buck has already lost some points and his place in the gene pool. Hey guys, those fawns aren't ready yet! Damn, pedos wherever you look...

The weeks without medical appointments usually see us holed up in our remote hovel, avoiding traffic and flu-carriers. Our Xmas bling is mostly down except for two lit trees; we're otherwise back to Mexican skulls, musical angels, the usual. Everything looks completely normal from outside, heh heh.

It's too late for coffee but if you stop by I'll brew something. I just finished a nice cup of cocoa smothered in whip creme, yum. And I managed not to scald myself with spills.

That storm front is across the lake making all sorts of booming noises.

Since its's around 50f it will be all rain.

Did a little writing on this and that. Nothing major. I can't keep my mind on it. There is always a letdown period after a major project is finished. I think I'm holding my breath waiting for the major rewrites that have to come sooner or later.

Ah, the pitter pat of falling rain.

Well, I made it another year. I spent my birthday at home alone, watching football, and relaxing.

Have a great week, everyone. :rose:

I'm happy you made it with us and a Happy Birthday to you. Twenty nine again, I see. ;)

Nah, I always admitted my age. :rose::kiss:

What, 37 ??

Ye gods, but it's a bloody cold day round here. And it's not made any easier by one of those deceptive winds that's not too swift, but makes it Bloody Cold rather quickly.

The heating is ON and I do not plan to go out.
Ah - the coffee !

Happy birthday, Lynn!

Here, it's cold and windy too. I'm at home today, and I think it's a good day to defrost the freezer—last week, someone didn't properly close it, and now it's full of ice. I can easily put its contents outside and take my time.

On the other hand, I promised myself to make some progress with the Valentine's Day story. I could combine the two, of course. Decision, decisions...

Erm. . . Defrost while writing, perhaps ?
I better find a warmer coat.

Happy Monday morning and no I didn't light the fire this morning coz I'm off to work soon but it'd be nice if I could, and then curl up in front of it for the day with a pile of books. Snow and ice from tomorrow forecast and it's only just below freezing but it feels a lot colder. A nice hot coffee and breakfast, off to work and hopefully some writing for a while when I get home... coz I have those two Valentines Day stories I'm working working working on...

Tex, you mentioned Cobra's. What did you do with them if I can ask? My story has an old Cobra pilot in it (a couple of sentences).

OK, it's the middle of the day; has the temperature risen (even slightly) ?
No.
It's still bloody cold.

A nice hot coffee is just the thing.

Morning Chloe, Mid 50's here and the sun is peeking out ever so often. I'll keep the coffee hot. Gas fireplace here. Saves all that wood chopping.

I did maintenance on them and was a crew chief for a while. Took a lot of test flights for repairs and for a relay panel I built to replace the mechanical relays on the chin turret with a reed type relay. We had a lot of problems with sand getting into everything.

Morning HP. I had planned on going out to the shop for a while but HM informed me that I was staying inside. She seems to have other plans for me. :)

Ah yes.
They do that, don't they.
Sometimes it's nice, other times it's to do some bloody job or other.

The Weather folk seem to imagine it's going to be 2 degrees [C] warmer tomorrow.
I'll believe that when it happens. :)

It was very very nice as a matter of fact. :)

<envy>

And the auto update thingy on my Win 10 machine has failed me. I ain't got a scooby how to fix it, but it will keep me amused tomorrow, I suspect. :(

But, for now, a mug of tea will be most welcome. :)

One mug of tea coming up.

Don't look at me. I dumped 8,9,and 10 and went back to 7. That's as far as I'm going with Windblows. Anything after that will be Linux. I have it loaded on both the desk top and the lap top already so....
