Ben felt sorta sad about it all this sneaking around, hiding, and the fact that it was necessary--it made it all seem...well, cheap. Sordid. And in a way it was; he'd thought the same about other men he'd heard of that started affairs.
But when he thought of Cassie, those words just didn't fit. She was beautiful, and vibrant, and alive, and sexually exuberant. She was a breath of fresh air in a life that he hadn't realized had grown stale. There was nothing tawdry or cheap or low about her. The contrast grated on him.
"So, can you do it?" he asked into the phone.
