Wall Street Journal pummels Trump for ‘punishing America first’ with botched tariff war with China

How much longer before the Rethuglicans revolt and impeach his ass?

The conservative Wall Street Journal lashed out at President Donald Trump on Saturday morning with a blistering editorial, hammering the President for plunging the U.S. into a trade war with China which is hurting American farmers and businessmen.

Under a very pointed headline reading, “Punishing America First,” the editorial board at the Rupert Murdoch-owned WSJ, was unsparing in it’s criticism of Trump’s tariff moves that have plunged the markets into chaos, while the president has offered the cold comfort that Americans will have to suffer a bit as he figures it out.

“Donald Trump and his advisers spent much of Friday telling everyone that the U.S. is not in a trade war with China, but investors weren’t buying it,” The editors wrote. “Equity markets took a major header, falling by more than 2% across the board. Maybe investors are starting to look at the damage Mr. Trump may do to the Farm Belt states and to the GOP’s chances of holding Congress.”

“China’s trade abuses need to be addressed, but Mr. Trump’s tariffs first strategy risks punishing America first. He—and we—had better hope Mr. Xi is willing to bargain,” the piece concluded.

What happens if China cashes in all the US bonds they now own? How will the Orange Menace pay those off, Trump Steaks?

Mr. Trump acknowledged that his approach to China could cause “a little pain”

Radio speech

“We’ve already lost the trade war. We don’t have a trade war, we’ve lost the trade war,” Trump said in a radio interview with New York radio show, 77 WABC’s “Bernie & Sid.”

“I’m not saying there won’t be a little pain, but the market has gone up 40 percent, 42 percent so we might lose a little bit of it. But we’re going to have a much stronger country when we’re finished.

“So we may take a hit and you know what, ultimately we’re going to be much stronger for it,” Trump said

"So far, he (Orange tRump) is the only person to actually believe that."

Fascism will be on our doorstep if we don’t act immediately: Yale historian

How close is President Donald Trump to following the path blazed by last century’s tyrants? Could American democracy be replaced with totalitarian rule? There’s enough resemblance that Yale historian Timothy Snyder, who studies fascist and communist regime change and totalitarian rule, has written a book warning about the threat and offering lessons for resistance and survival. The author of On Tyranny: Twenty Lessons from the Twentieth Century talked to AlterNet’s Steven Rosenfeld.

'Torch and pitchfork' time is near!

Impeach, Convict, Execute!

Trump adviser Kudlow ignores farmers’ tariff woes to tout ‘gangbuster’ Wall Street profits in defensive CNN interview

Newly appointed Trump economic adviser Larry Kudlow was put on the spot on by CNN’s Jake Tapper on Sunday morning with the host pressing him on the president’s announced tariffs that have roiled the stock market and panicked American farmers.

Kudlow, who previously criticized tariffs before taking the administration job, explained that he has had a change of heart and that Trump’s tariffs are correct in light of China’s actions.

“I think personally we have had to go in and fire a shot across the bow,” Kudlow explained. “China’s behavior for 20 years now is more than unfair trade practices — it’s illegal trading practices. They are stealing our property rights. They are forcing technology from our companies to be open so they can get it, and they have tall trade barriers that president is somewhat right about and this stuff has to stop.”

“The stock market is still up 25 percent plus since the election,” the Trump advisor soldiered on. “You talk to a Wall Street guy, profits are the mother’s milk. Profits are coming in like gangbusters. I’m not going to predict the stock market, I don’t think they will want me to, but I have thoughts on the matter. We will do fine with the earnings.”

Says the man who doesn't invest in pork bellys!

‘Ambassador to the unhinged underbelly’: Don Jr exposed as Trump’s liaison to the fanatical fringe

In a look into the Twitter career of President Donald Trump’s oldest son, observers point out that Trump has deployed Don Jr., his namesake, as his online ambassador to the radical and fringe right that trades in conspiracy theories while being slavishly devoted to the president.

According to Politico, Donald Trump Jr. is “one of his father’s key ambassadors to the fringe, promoting theories that added drama and visceral energy to the grass-roots right.”

Speaking with Politico, former Breitbart exec Kurt Bardella said that Don Jr’s Twitter account serves the purpose of amplifying extremist rhetoric by way of retweets of Twitter comments that might be too out there, even for the normally untrammeled president.

“Empowering conspiracy theorists and fringe voices with an endorsement from the president of the United States’ son will only amplify the ignorant at the expense of everybody else,” explained Bardella before adding, “A retweet or like is an explicit endorsement by Donald Trump Jr.”

"Dunce jr." spreading lies and disinformation!

Republicans warn Trump could be impeached

Perhaps a Thanksgiving present?

Republican U.S. Representative Sean Duffy of Wisconsin is warning voters about what could happen to President Donald Trump if the GOP doesn't retain its majority in the U.S. House after the November midterm election. He said last week in a talk radio interview: “Do you think that the far-left Resist movement base of the Democrat Party would accept anything other than impeachment?”

A POLITICO and Morning Consult from last month found roughly 39 percent of voters said Congress should impeach Trump. But 48 percent said they did not want Congress to start impeachment proceedings.

Bluenami coming Asshats!

No, a cattle-prod. Shove that electro-stick against the public scrotum and pull the trigger. Gups yell, SKY FALLING IF YOU VOTE DUM! and flash vids of Satanic slut Nancy Pelosi devouring helpless white Protestant wage-earner's babies while a mariachi band plays in the background. It's all they've got.

Bluenami coming Asshats!
Which corporate owners will the DNC fellate after they retake Congress? Who on Wall Street will suffer?

This message is hidden because BotanyBoy and his every slimy alt is on your ignore list.
Whatever.

Lots of precedents being set.

--Denying a SCOTUS seat just because
--Pushing through bills with no debate and no input from the opposing party at the last second with scribblings on the margins from lobbyists: That's ok now.
--ignoring rampant corruption, graft and ethics violations
--Intel Committees openly conspiring to protect the President
--Openly advocating for a child molester for the Senate
--Throwing "morality" out the window. Big problem for the Family Values Party in the future
--Letting the Pres. bomb without going to Congress. That's ok now. Can't complain in the future.
--Standing back while the Pres trashes the DOJ, FBI, and all the Intel Agencies
--Standing back while the Pres. refuses to enforce laws Congress enacts
--Standing back while the Pres. bullies and harasses private companies
--Standing back while the Pres. cozies up to dictators
--Saying nothing while Cabinet members openly take money and favors from lobbyists with business in that Agency. All ok.
--Letting the President demand private voter registration information from the states
--Letting billionaires buy seats in the Cabinet (Betsy DeVos)
--Saying nothing while Pres violates the Emoluments Clause
--No Tax Returns from Pres
--Pres. not divesting from his prior businesses
--Rampant abuse of taxpayer money by Cabinet Members
--Nepotism. Hiring of incompetants because: family
--Lax enforcement of security clearances in the WH
--Hiring an agent of foreign gov'ts as "National Security Advisor" and keeping him on after the FBI warns he is a major security threat
--Randomly threatening nuclear war
--Pres. spending 1/3 of his time on vacation

All things the R say are OK.

Oh I hope they are that dumb.

Besides impeachment because "We hate you so much and just because we can." is a dangerous precedent to set.....so best of luck with that one.

[long list]

Politics runs on Karma, among other things. What goes around, comes around. What you do comes back to haunt you. What you've done unto others, they'll do unto you, cocksucker.

Every trick Gups-Trompniks play can and will be used against them... unless they manage to establish a dictatorship and liquidate the opposition. You may have seen truck mudflaps saying KILL THE LIBERALS. That's their goal. Will Dums survive? Or is this just another turning of the cosmic wheel?

They can't establish a dictatorship. But they know very well they are tossing the R Party over the side and there is NO future for it. What do they have in mind?

Will they blow up the whole thing rather than hand the country over to women, coloreds, and the clamoring hordes?

You raise the point of dangerous precedents being set in governing.

If you're as non-partisan and indifferent to Trump as you say, one would think the dangerous precedents being set daily by the current R Party would hold some interest to you. Apparently not.

Because a.) you have absolutely no idea what's actually going on; and b.) it's only bad when it's something you can rag D's for = not non-partisan

Mmhmmm....your point?

Doesn't realize that's a two way street...LOL

Maybe one day it will learn.

You raise the point of dangerous precedents being set in governing.

Uh hua....

If you're as non-partisan and indifferent to Trump as you say, one would think the dangerous precedents being set daily by the current R Party would hold some interest to you. Apparently not.

Some do, some don't.

They aren't the topic of conversation though...impeaching Trump was.

Because a.) you have absolutely no idea what's actually going on; and b.) it's only bad when it's something you can rag D's for = not non-partisan

Or C) it wasn't germane to the conversation about impeaching Trump and you're just trying to dig for ANYTHING that deflects from how stupid of an idea impeaching any POTUS you just don't like because you can really is.

;) better luck next time....

It wasn't Trump that sold them. Let's find the person who DID sell them to a country we have had poor relations with since the 50s and make THAT person pay them off.

I didn't respond to it because it's more of your ascription and miscaricaturization. And at this point a meaningless hypothetical.*

Pelosi, Schumer, Adam Schiff, Tom Perez have all squashed talk of impeachment. It's not on the table at this point--which annoys me, but hey. I respect Pelosi and her instincts are very good. Until she comes out with it, it's just a bunch of b.s. and you're salivating because of right wing talking points, not reality.

Secondly, if the Dems do come out with a real impeachment trial (if they take the House) it won't be for a while--until Mueller issues his finding and Adam Schiff concludes a REAL House Intel Investigation. That's a long way off.

Once it's official, we can revisit this "just because they don't like him" crap.

*As compared to the "dangerous precedents" being set for real every single day by the R party

Or C) it wasn't germane to the conversation about impeaching Trump and you're just trying to dig for ANYTHING that deflects from how stupid of an idea impeaching any POTUS you just don't like because you can really is.

;) better luck next time....

Hey, Can Trump Un-Sign This Budget Bill He Signed? Asking For Donald Trump

https://img.wonkette.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/conservatives-know-who-to-blame-for-trumps-g20-hotel-fiasco-thanks-obama.jpg

Donald Trump was having a bad Executive Time. He had signed the stupid omnibus “budget” bill, and now Ann Coulter was Exorcist-vomiting all over the Fox News! He did not watch Fox News for them to tell him he was bad. He watched Fox News for the day’s instructions from the Queen of Diamonds!

How mean WERE they, Washington Post?

“This is a swamp budget, this is a Mitch McConnell special, this is a dysfunctional Senate,” Fox News personality Pete Hegseth vented, referring to the Senate majority leader. “There’s no wall. Ultimately, the Democrats controlled the process in the Senate. That’s why Chuck Schumer was so happy.”

Well now it is some weeks or 17 years later, and Donald Trump would like to know if he can un-sign the budget bill he finally signed after a big old tantrum. Because he is a mad king, a lunatic, and also he sucks.

So how badly did Chuck & Nancy roll the president? And how salty were Breitbart’s tears?

As Breitbart News reported, the omnibus spending bill contains language that explicitly bars funding for a southern border wall.

The omnibus also contains provisions that expand the H-2B visa-worker program, which would reduce market pressure on companies to offer American workers higher wages.

Republican leadership included provisions that will allow the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to conduct gun research as well.

Additionally, the omnibus has the Fix NICS Act, which would allow unelected bureaucrats to remove Americans’ right to purchase firearms without due process.

Very salty indeed! And they didn’t even note that one of the bourgie liberal wins in the omnibus budget bill — and neither had we, till just now! — was the reinstatement of alternative energy tax credits for solar and geothermal that had run out in 2016. Picking winners and losers in the market? Have they never heard of Obama’s GREATEST SCANDAL, besides all the other ones and the tan suit, a little thing called SOLYNDRA? Geothermal and solar power are NOT EVEN COAL.

Are you sick of winning yet, Donald?
:D:D:D:D

Trump's budget "undo" button
A GOP source: "The idea generally is one that congressional leadership is taking seriously, reviewing, and supportive of. It’s unlikely Congress would be able to pass a $60 billion rescission. A smaller rescission is possible."

Rotsa ruck, Donnie. Gups passed Obama's budget because they wanted to, ha ha. See what happens when you're a cloutless luzer? Oh, the impotence -- and no political Viagra in sight. Sad. I guess you gotta nuke Korea now.

Trump abruptly cancels planned South American trip as scandals explode around him

The White House announced on Tuesday that President Donald Trump has canceled his planned trip to South America as multiple scandals are exploding around his administration.

Via CNN’s Jim Acosta, White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders told reporters Tuesday morning that Trump would not be travelling to Peru or Colombia as originally planned, and would be sending Vice President Mike Pence to those countries instead.

Sanders said that Trump was staying behind in the United States because he wants to “oversee the American response to Syria and to monitor developments around the world.”

I thought that is what the State Dept. was for,? Oh... right.:)

Comey ‘stunned’ ABC News crew by comparing Trump to ‘mob boss’: report

Former FBI Director James Comey is getting ready to promote his book that’s scheduled to be released this week — and a new report claims he left people “stunned” during a recently taped interview with ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos.

Axios reports that the former FBI director compared President Donald Trump to a “mob boss” in the upcoming interview, and one source tells the publication that the interview will “certainly add more meat to the charges swirling around Trump.”

According to Axios, Comey is going to reveal information that he has never discussed before — and the publication’s source predicts that Comey is “going to shock the president and his team.”

Comey’s book, titled “A Higher Loyalty: Truth, Lies, and Leadership,” is set to release on April 17. White House aides are reportedly already concerned about Trump’s reaction to Comey’s book, and one former administration official said this week that they expected the book to be “more damaging” than Michael Wolff’s book “Fire and Fury,” which topped bestseller lists earlier this year.

The Don of Dipshitery, Donny the Dotarding Draft Dodger, what is his "Mob Name"?
