Sounds fun, creative, and a good cause! I have been wanting to get into more upcycle / repair projects, but am currently limited by space. There are so many great pieces out there for free / cheap! I picked up a free solid maple secretary yesterday from Fb marketplace- in great shape as is but could be upcycled and modernized out of the midcentury colonial repro style. What’s your fave era to work with?

I am a mcm person but my personal style is eclectic vintage.... I found a mcm dresser in the garbage that was FILTHY... I cleaned it up and someone had painted it with oil paint and covered in something resembling shellac. I was gonna just repaint because it was already ruined but my sister liked it the way it was so I gave it to her. Even if 80s style or old cheap and ugly I will pop of the trim sand and paint and then pain the inside a contrasting color.... just depends on my mood I also have been known to mix together paint colors if I dont have enough to make a new color.....

I have some old tools.... I will pull them out and take a pic when I get a sec. I bought a whole bunch of metal stuff for 50$...

we’re flying to San Diego this afternoon.

Driving from there to Palm springs for a few days. We’re trying a nudist resort there. Been to nude beaches before but this is our first time to a resort.

I’d swap your sunny San Diego for my damp (not that kind) and grey Netherlands. Have lots of fun!!!
