90% of the time I charge at home, but those rare occasions where I need to do a road trip are fraught with range anxiety. I use the Plugshare app, but still don’t enjoy...

I’m in NJ. During the pandemic we were really close to buying some land in central PA. Appalachia is still one of my favorite places.

The snowpack on my rooftop panels may not leave until April. And the short daylight hours don't help the situation. I could almost see having an EV for a daily driver, but it would need some decent ground clearance and 4WD for winter driving. The little Sube ticks the boxes most of the time for me and is fairly economical. When the roads get nasty, I take the Cruiser.

I was just in Alaska in August- well, a cruise, which doesn't really count, does it? Beautiful country.

A cousin was also here in August on a cruise and included some bus/rail rides from Fairbanks to Whittier. Kind of sad seeing people politely herded onto buses or the train like cattle for tours, seeing only what the cruise company gets a kickback on. And, everything is scheduled to the minute with no extra time to go off the beaten path. Doesn't seem relaxing to me.

Vans are easy. Just put down a mattress. A car is trickier, but I have managed it in a VW Golf, and my current car a Dodge challenger. But I miss bench front seats. so I must add a Buick to my car list
