Good morning Wat and other denizens of the greasy spoon. First frost is this morning. I will need a jacket this morning as I drive my granddaughter to her day care. My grandson is getting better but still needs time to get over the crud.

I fixed the empty cup awfulness.


It's not going that close to freezing in the next 10 days, according to the weather lies app. Either here in Worktown or Back East at the house.


I'm halfway looking at a car from the teens. That's right, well over 100 years old. The prices for one in decent shape aren't that bad, really. They appeal to my sense of history and gizmoness.

He has to start taking phos lo. His xalcium is ok but phos is too high. I will look at diet again.
I want to see what his most recent creat is.
I cant seem to get his glucose under control. I want to know what i am aiming for.
His appetite is improving and that is good. I think i need to look at portion sizes witha few things....

It was pretty good! I went to a birthday party for one of my friends on Saturday night. I baked cherry vanilla cupcakes and mini blueberry cheesecakes for it!

Sunday, I got my hair cut. Then my boat guy came over and we pulled the boat out of the water. I made it on the trailer on the second try! A gust of wind blew me off course right as I got to the trailer the first pass.

I got a nice picture of the mountain peeking it's head above the clouds while I was out on the lake. I never get tired of looking at that!

I was driving with Mrs. wonder on Monday night and watch the moon come up. It was amazing. It inspired me to write.

Another baffling conundrum of nature. Which came first? Chicken or the egg. I’m glad some of the ones that figured apples out liked sweet apples. I’m a sucker for those.

Man, I wish I remembered the variety of Apple. I ate yesterday. We got a boatload of apples when we went across Pennsylvania in New York State a few weeks ago.

Wow- when you say your grandson had the crud, I just feel like that’s a cold, but he’s been out for a couple days. But those things can linger.

Schools and young children are like petri dishes… hope he’s on the mend soon!

And although I have meetings all day, not one of them is with any motherfucker from my office.

Yeah, it would’ve been nice to grab a cup of coffee or bullshit with someone, but…

I decided to work from home. I have two weeks of travel back to back at the end of October and a metric fuck ton of meetings next week.

I think today will be a good day to put my head down and get some shit done.

No, I don't have one yet. Yes, I'm working on it. There are apparently a few starts that were brought to the US and have been propagated. The fruit isn't much good, but supposedly the leaves turn bright red in the fall.

Cells take water they need from the blood. So, if you drink salt water before bed, you'll likely have the same kidney function as you do with fresh water.

Wat ordered lotsa shit online this week and it'll all show up tomorrow and Saturday like Xmas in October. And then Wat will officially stop spending money.

Again . . . .

You ain't the only one! After three trips to town looking for a part to fix a car last week, I ordered tools, tools and more tools. And then some parts to keep in stock. (It doesn't help that the female half of this household decided she's already late on her Christmas shopping for the year...)
Once the dust settled after the parade of FedEx and UPS trucks, I was able to combine the boxes like those nesting Russian dolls. Must be dozen layers!


Off to the grind. Second morning with hard frost in a row. The tomatoes might be done for. Apples should start to tasting better now.

Well, I’m doing research on Facebook marketplace. I did find an old anvil car in Kansas City. 1920. Open touring car. Seems to be running and driveable, and it’s worth considering. Of course, these things take a while.

I can’t really take pictures of the moon either. But I know Liliana has taken some very good ones.

If she takes and post pictures of the moon, then we don’t have to.

The car is anvil brand, 1920, touring car, and it’s in Kansas. They’re not making any more of these things. The price is decent. I think it’s a runner driver. I have sent the guy a message to get more information. I’ll keep you posted.

I also need to send a message to Frankenmotor guy next week.

I have a bad habit of perusing the Oracle of all knowledge (UT000b) and saw something about your last sip of water at night (she had a couple of supplements she was taking) should be salt water?

Never heard of such, but here’s her theory; the salt water moves to replenish cells and doesn’t go straight to your bladder. That way you don’t feel the “need”…haven’t put this to trial and error yet, but sounds good?

When I bought my place, one of my brothers helped me shop for a set of basic tools. Just the stuff that's handy to have around the house for normal type stuff.
I've kept them organized and looking like new for 20+ years because I was taught:
Treat your tools well and they'll treat you well

Thanks to the handyman most of my tools are now looking like they were rode hard and put away wet. There's even a few missing that he "found here at my place". Honestly!

At least I know where they are - now the trick is getting him to remember to bring them back here the next time he shows.*

Irritating part - Yes, I can find something to replace them. But this particular set is no longer sold. So there is no replacing the part of the set if he doesn't return it. It will be a hunt for "something similar that will still work" at best.

I cannot wait for the day when he finishes these last few items. Then I can be done and never call him again.

Sad thing - he does decent work for a decent price. But he ghosts like a MFer and communicates for which makes dealing with him stress-inducing and maddening. Never again - I'll need to try and find a different handyman for any future jobs... and I will never recommend him to any of my friends/family!
