The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

I getting tired of the heat and humidity of this summer too. Bring on Autumn!

I'm still of mixed feelings. Autumn brings on winter and that ain't up my alley. And shorter days/less sunlight. The way the wheels won't stay under this work assignment, shorter daze will make for some more depressing work daze . . . .

I’m with ya. I treat Clyde (my 1972 tractor with loving respect), but also that machine can work!!!!

Yeah - the sister wasn’t mine so I did run it a bit rough. That’s what rentals r for!!

Bo is too tall to go into the barn because the barn trusses are too low. It's the hoe part that will interfere. So, I may have to get a lower machine to move inside easily to muck out and to carry cargo to the engine corral.

There is a big regular engine for sale cheap in Michigan. I'd scarf it up, if.

Still no word on Frankenengine, damn them.

Sounds like a good reason for a new barn to me!

Always go bigger than what you think you’ll need. (If ya can afford it)

(I’m assuming @nipplecaresser will have a field day with this….)

There is always the two-40'-shipping-containers-with-trusses-and-plywood method, but it's still too low.

I'm thinking I'd like a loft apartment at one end. Place for small projects. Many places.

Sounds like mr unreliable…. Sorry likes…. Hopefully he knocks it out and you’ll be done…

Reminds me of these two completely diff songs… one of which is one my favorite band names: The Cryin Shames.

Or this scorcher by The Inmates

Never did get back to sleep... may be a nap later
Quick check-in...
They did pay for a lot of the classes I could use as "proof" of continuing education.
No certs for my job but do have continuing ed hours. This year? Manager forgot to renew our licenses for the site w/ all the training. Next license window is at 6-mo mark. Won't change our training requirements though, which are tied to our annual reviews. Score from the review determines our raises.
It seems the storms are getting stronger and more destructive each year. 😥😟
Yeah - not a fan
If you needed an IV so badly they had to use an unconventional site, you wouldn't care...
Right? May not be in any condition to be able to care either I'm guessing.
It's been a while since I've had to ride out a hurricane on the boat... I don't remember the name of it, but TBH, I really don't even watch the weather when one is coming in on us. Boats float, it's the people on land who really catch hell.
That must be wild! Rigs are huge, but... hurricane
Oh, and I snuck a smartassed crack about Lili past Lili without reply.
That doesn't happen often.
But I do have a PM, so there still might be trouble afoot.
Maybe aankle and aknee, too
might want to wear a cup for a bit
Those knees can be... sharp

ugh. Same
Storms came through afternoon and some damage in other cities fortunately not mine. It’s still warm and humid.
same again
I’ve always loved the summer and I don’t mind heat or humidity too much.
But yeah, by this time of year I’m ready for some cooler weather.
Just not the shorter days, tho.
the trade-off has a high price

there's an auction site in the Midwest, but turn around is pretty fast once the auction closes.

Right.
As the Old Saying goes, it's not the Heat, it's the HuHumidity.
ah yes, the one-two punch of summer

That's one of the early arrival/relocation projects.
I'm thinking 60' x 100'.
I'd like to get it "right" the first time.
sounds like an afternoon project for the two of you 😂
Forrest fires, drought, floods hurricanes and ocean rise. What more could we wish for!
mercy, Mother Nature, mercy

I will always have my degrees; they're earned and can't be taken away. It's the license to practice which is conferred by the state. It can be taken away, mostly for egregious infractions. In my case, I voluntarily let my license expire.
I will always be an engineer. I will retire my license when I decide to stop using it for professional work.
