Today was a long day.

We qualified for a grant from a non profit… like 1.5 years ago. It took some time and planning and volunteers. But today we planted 125 native trees and shrubs.

We had 12 volunteers. Many hands make light work. And knocked it out in three hours!

Then I had to work the rest of the day.

But had a beer and a burger w Mrs wonderer and then a nice fire.

What an perfect October fall day!!

Barite run... it's crushed, diatomaceous earth... a fancy name for dirt, which they use to increase the weight of the liquid mud.
The mud is then pumped "downhole" to equalize, or overcome the pressures encountered during the drilling process.
That allows for well control, without the blowout.

Fun place. I recall a visit years ago over Labor Day Weekend. We went out for a walk after I greased up with 70 SPF Sunscreen.

Very interesting!

We use diatomaceous earth too. It’s a natural pesticide.
 
You should see the dry "gel" they mix with the mud too.
It increases the "lubricity" of the mud...
Let straight gel get wet and it'll make KY-Jelly seem like non-skid!
Good to have around if you ever want to make someone park in their office, instead of in front of their office. 🤣
