A place for those who enjoy the sweet herb and everything about it. Share your thoughts on rolling, bongs, vaporizers and eating and cooking. What methods of growing your own work best. Share some of your fun times you've had.

Make yourself comfortable and enjoy a puff of magic.

i have to lay off it until after oct. 6th, but i used to grow all the time in the past. in march i picked out places to grow, dug a hole about 3 foot wide to 3 feet deep. then put soil back in a little at a time with a handful of fertilizer and limestone until the hole is filled. walk off and leave it until may. stir soil a little, and plant seed. come back in one month unless too dry and water, to check on what i had. then check again in a month unless too dry. do this until august and then check once a week for a month for males and pull them. then leave them alone unless dry until a hard freeze is predicted. pot will survive a light frost with no problem. bud you have to be aware of bud rot in the fall if it is too wet or a light frost.
if you are lucky to get sativa seed, and get enough rain you can get 10 foot plants this way that look like a x-mas tree. only one or two will get this big in each hole. but all others in each hole will be a lot smaller. i had one tiny plant under a 10 footer with one tiny bud on it. it smelled like oranges. i dried it, smoked it, and got lost in the woods i had been in a thousand times. wasn't worried. just enjoyed the experience.
i paid our mid-wife in pot for help with the birth and neonatal care for our kids. you can trade weed for anything.

Excellent Ivan. What do you do or use to prevent little furry stoners from eating your plants? I agree that herb is as good as money. It's a stable commodity to use. Have you tried putting a paper sack on branches to fast flower a plant to determine gender?
I have a strain I grow indoors, but an outdoor strain to begin with. On avg. it tops out under good, not excellent conditions at 18' with a bunch of 2' colas on it. I have another than tops at 6', an Indica, that's almost 4' in diam. Tons of small, walnut-sized buds, that have a very berry smell to them.

Oh stop your giggling and pack your bong. Let's have a taste of what you're smoking. I have some White Noise, aptly named, that leaves your head buzzing like a bee hive.

Yes Master!

Honestly, I didn't catch the 'type' of this last batch. It's pretty dry, which reminds me of summer, and a burning savannah.

love to visit you in october.............

i try to find places where there is no obvious animal traffic. or anywhere near groundhog holes. rabbits only mess with them when they are small. blood meal around the holes will deter a lot of animals. BUT when it gets wet, it draws in others. like skunks, raccoons. as long as there is no organic material in the hole, when it rains or you water, nothing will dig in the holes. i usually use 10-10-10 fertilizer. neem oil spritzed around the area will deter critters. organic material in the holes has a "food" smell and will draw animals when wet. whether it be manure, blood, etc..
during droughts, that gets tricky. the smell of water will draw animals to dig in the holes and uproot plants. so, if there is a rain predicted the same day, water plants deeply and hope it does rain to hide the smell.
groundhogs are a bitch. if one comes in, they'll chew a plant off about 4 inches above ground, and strip the plant of leaves and bud and leave the stalk and stems. you can only keep those little fuckers away by shooting them and eating them, or put wire around them. but that bumps up the chances of the plants of being seen from the air.
this is why i like sativas. they get big enough to where animals don't bother them. indicas are more than likely to be fucked with until they are harvested.

Aren't you sweet.:) I'm waiting patiently now till the outdoor harvest is in. Some friends have said the buds aren't as big as they should be, because the damn humidity is so high, but they're still well over a foot long already and smell like a mild Skunky/sweet aroma.

One thing to watch out for. Always check your soil Ph, as well as your water. My girls are suffering from Chlorosis, the salts in the soil are locking up the minerals. An application of Epsom Salts (1 Tbsp per Gal. of balanced water) will solve it quickly. Make sure you catch it quickly, when it starts in the bottom leaves. It only takes days and your girls could turn completely yellow and die.

Only one more week for these ripe nuggets to be ready to dry. 7-10 days is a good time to wait for thorough dryness. Snal the end of the stalk at that time. If it breaks cleanly, it's ready. If it bends, it's still too moist.

Never tried the stuff. Not even once. How sad is that?

View attachment 1028666 These are my babies. they're 2 1/2 weeks old from cloning. A warm and cool flourescent bulb in each fixture provides a good spectrum of light and no heat worries.
