I submitted my latest story with an uploaded doc file Saturday afternoon, expecting it to take five to seven days for it to get posted, which would land it near next weekend. I was surprised that it was posted early this morning, barely 30 hours after submitting it. I've heard of turnarounds like that for cut-n-paste submissions but not for ones with uploaded files.

Was it a contest story or a writers event story? If so, they normally post faster.

I had a story that was posted fairly quickly too - I think it took two days. We have no idea what is going on behind the scenes and how busy Laurel is in any particular week or on any particular day. Who knows, maybe they are relying on bots more than before.

I think the more often you submit without having problems in what you submit, the more you will settle into usually being posted in two days. I submit at least once a week and have been on the usually-two-day-posting train for a decade and a half.

You could have a point. I don't submit real often, but my last two were within days of each other.
