Well, to say this weekend was interesting would be an understatement.
I finally figured out what is wrong with my car. (It runs fine when it’s at speed but once you sit at a traffic light for a while it acts like it’s out of gas and stalls. It also wont restart right away, you have to wait for at least fifteen minutes. The same thing when you run it for a while and shut down the engine, it won’t start again right away.) I figured out it was something in the electronics that was overheating but had no idea what it was. Then I did some research and it turns out this problem is known in my vehicle. It’s the Cam Positioning Sensor. Unfortunately while you can buy the sensor for just a couple of dollars you have to calibrate it and I don’t have the skills or the equipment to do so. This means I’ll have to spend the money to have this done.
This morning in work my boss informed me she wants me to show up for work one day to do some repairs. She’s more than a bit upset that many of the wall mounted Blood Pressure Cuffs are not in working order. I’m to come in and inspect every one of them and repair them as needed. (This is actually a job for Maintenance but they don’t seem to have the time or manpower to do this.) The good news is I’m going to be getting triple pay for the time I spend doing this. The bad news is this kind of job is a pain in the butt and I have to do it on my time.
This afternoon my wife did a slip and fall on her unit. She took a header when she stepped into a room with a wet floor. She was immediately transported to the E.R. and checked out. Thankfully when she fell she went backwards and landed first on her left hip then cracked her elbow. (She didn’t hit her head.) The Wet Read of the X-Rays showed no fractures but tomorrow she has to go to a Workman’s Comp. Place to be checked out again and they will read the X-Rays again. She’s more embarrassed than anything else, although she’s going to have some lovely bruises tomorrow. (She bruises easily.) Her arm is slightly swollen around the area where she hit it on the floor and her butt is a bit sore but that’s it. What concerns her is the place she has to go to is well known for being greedy. They like to push people to make their injuries seem much worse than they are. (She has to go to this place though, if she doesn’t then she can’t return to work.)
Ahhhh well, it was that kind of weekend.
