The whole debate is not really over abortion rights per se.

I am simply arguing that it is illegal to get an abortion in Britain solely for gender selection. ( I am pro choice, but find this extremely immoral)

There is no case law. Obviously the law can not be written to foresee every circumstance so you could interpret it different than I do....than your government does, than you media does, than the heads of you abortion critics and proponents do , than Scotland Yard does.

So yes, yes you can say it is debatable despite the preponderance of evidence that suggest gender selection is illegal per the law. And if he would have presented it that way I would have been fine with it. If he would have said anything half way logical to back up his opinion than I would have respectfully disagreed with him.
